2011 optima check engine reset. Dealer installed new gas cap 6 months ago.Refueled and light came on. Tightened to one click. Took cap off and tightened to one click but light still on.

It's the gas cap sensor. Or you are getting a vaccuum leak somewhere.

SOURCE: Gas cap warning light is on. Gas cap is tight.

If the cap is tight then you need to replace the fuel cap. the light will go off when cap is replaced

It needs to be reset or cleared this can be done at your local AutoZone or local repair facility.
