2008 Nissan Presage. I just bought it and cant turn ignition to 0. It stays at 1 as lowest. I struggle starting it every time. I don't know what to do?

Question edited for clarity.

This is a virtually unknown model here in North America and had a very limited sales market.

The Nissan Presage (Japanese: ?????????, Hepburn: Nissan Pures?ju) is a minivan produced by Japanese automaker Nissan from 1998 to 2009. The Presage was only officially sold by Nissan in Japan, Hong Kong and Singapore.

So you you can't turn the switch back all the way to remove the key? It stops at Accessories? Take it back to the garage that sold it to you. If you bought it privately, try squirting WD40 or Electrical Contact Cleaner into the lock using the red tube on the spray nozzle.

Toyota rav4 2008 car cranking but doe not starting when ignition switch off and remove key from ignition lock still check engine light on and oil light on

Assuming all the ignition related systems are switched off when the key is out, your description indicates either bad wiring or a fried ECU.

As the car is 2008 and probably more of a wheeled computer than a car, it would be best to seek expert advice from someone with a clever laptop.

Electrical system failure on 2008 Pontiac Torrent while replacing brake light? Key now stuck in ignition?

No electrical system failure due to replacing a brake light. If the brake lights were not coming on, you may want to check your brake pedal switch. If the switch does not make properly, then the brake lights will not illuminate, and the transmission interlock may prevent the transmission from going into park, which locks the ignition cylinder (sometimes), but check that first.

I blew a rod in the 2008 engine and replaced with a 2005 everything connected and motor will turn over but not start

Without ignition no car will start. Somehow when you put all back to gether the ignition wiring is inoperative - check the wiring to your coil(s) . Bet they are not getting powered.

Get your self the schematic for the ignition circuit and trace all of the components till you find no electricity.

I have full battery power but no power to my dash ignition lights when i turn key put have head lights and horn. on my 2008 chevy cobalt

Some cars have inline fuses in the battery cables and have multiple connections for components making one get power and others not. If all your fuses are good, the next thing to look at is the electrical part of the key switch. Usually there is the mechanical part with the tumbler, and the electrical part.

Truck continues to run when ignition is turned off and the key is removed?

Generally, this is caused by the electrical ignition switch failure, shorting between the contacts.

You may even feel a crunching feeling as you turn the key. It's not the Key cylinder, but the electrical switch part of the ignition.

The Ignition switch controls the computer, fuel supply, and voltage.

Good luck!

I have a 2008 dodge avenger se and my engine light is on and was flashing before. when it is in drive or park it turns off when i stop. i took it to auto zone and the told me that cylinder 3 and 4 misfire...

Possible causes:
Faulty spark plug
Clogged or faulty fuel injector
Faulty ignition coil
Fuel injector
Harness is open or shorted
Fuel injector circuit has poor electrical connection
Ignition coil harness is open or shorted
Ignition coil circuit poor electrical connection
Insufficient cylinder compression
Incorrect fuel pressure
Intake air leak

The P0304 code means that the cylinder 4 is misfiring or is randomly misfiring. Start by checking for intake leaks and if no leaks are found the next step is to replace the spark plugs on cylinder 4.

Periodically my 2008 Altima push button ignition won't start. Dealership says battery, alternator, elec. system all ok. Any help?

There is a sensor near your brake pads that tells the electrical component in the bush button that you are pushing in the brake. I was having the same problem and just had mine replaced.
