SOURCE: Where's the bonnet/hood release lever for a 2003 VW Golf located?

you will find a black lever either on the right or left kick plate (that is the trim piece from the floor to the dash on the outer floor pan) inside the car, under the shelf, under the glovebox depending whether left or right hand drive.is is a bit dark to see it tucked up as it is.

SOURCE: I pull the red lever inside the car to open

The release catch should be just to left from the center in the second row down. It should spring out as you pull up on the hood. If not then it may be broken but you can use a hook tool to pull back the safety catch to open the hood.

How to open zetec bonnet with a broken pull lever

From the bottom. Few times have I seen it broke at the latch. Reach up and cut the cable in half( as far as you can away from the latch). Then cut a couple inches of the cable sheathing of at the latch side. expose the cable, then pull the cable to open. If it did break at the latch, then you'll need a long pick(right angle or hook). You'll have to reach up in the latch to grab the arm to release the bonnet.

Front bonnet catch wont release fully,i pull lever from inside and it releases bonnet just a couple inch, then when try to lift bonnet up it wont open. regards mike, and thanks in advance

There is another lever at the front of the car that you need to release too. This is to prevent the hood flying open if you accidentally pull the release while driving. After you release the latch inside the car, go to the front of the car, near the Audi rings in the center of the grill there is a small black tab that pops out. Pull up on it and the hood will open. Let us know if that worked.

Bonnet stuck down

If the inside latch won't work, you'll have to reach up from underneath the hood to pull the lever over to open. Usually a flatblade screwdriver will help. The latch lever has to move towards driver's side to open.

I have a 1997 Ford Fiesta R/H Drive, but can not find the bonnet release, any thoughts?

Hi,

if you have the manual of the car, then try to look it up.
and as i guess isn't it supposed to be next to your driver's seat, or the underside of the dashboard, close to your feet, like almost between your feet and steering wheel?

I hope this is useful, and greets,

Olivier.

It sound like it i out of adjustment. I had this same thing occur n my car. Ask an assistant to pull the release lever inside the car all the way, then try to open the bonnet while they are pulling on the lever.

Bonnet not openning 1995 Dodge caravan

you need to take a coat hanger & bend it to fit in the front of the car & pull the latch. I know it's vague but it needs to happen. Or,check to see if the cable broke at the inside latch release & grab the end with a vise grip & pull.
