My car shows abs light on the dash what can be the problem?

if you are saying that the dash lights go dim and bright while driving it could be a loose connection of the wiring harness behind the speedo nacal.

If the abs warning light is on, you will need someone to scan the computer for trouble codes to proceed.

May need a new gauge module, Involves removal of dash to replace.

abs light is on= get your brakes abs system fixed
abs light is on but then goes off....good!
abs light doesn't come on at startup. = Check the lamp in the dash hasn't blown, have the car checked professionally as your abs might not work at all.

the problem is in the abs with the abs light on the cruise will not activate

if the ABS system is functional u will have no ABS warning light showing in the dash except when u first turn the key on, that is a prove out to show the indicator light is working. If the ABS has a problem of any kind the light will always stay on when driving and the system will be disabled..

I can't answer the question about the gas fumes, but I had the same problem last year with the "Service Traction Sysytem" message and the Trac and ABS lights coming on in my Impala. Mine turned out to be because of a bad wheel bearing, that was causing the ABS and traction system not to work. I'm not sure if you've experienced this, but another thing that would happen with mine was that I would go to brake and have a hard time depressing the brake pedal, almost like it was pushing back. That is the point when the Trac and ABS lights came on.

Check your abs connectors they might have pulled a wire loose
