You need to take the car in and have the engine control module scanned for the fault code that was set in memory when the check engine light (you foreigners call it an engine management light) came on. It can be any of hundreds of problems.

Remove the door panel and use your voltmeter to see if it's getting power and ground. If it is, then you need a new regulator.

04 ford focus 1.8 tddi changed fuel filter turned it on and it ran for about 10 sec and cut out

perhaps isnt in the right flow direction check the arrow mark on the filter to match with the flow of the gas.if is ok try to remove the air from the pipes.

Mondeo wont start

Have the battery charged and checked for cca's. Make sure connections to battery are clean.. Last it could be a bad starter

Hi,you need to get the codes read first this will probably show an intermittent problem with the accelerator pedal position switch,if not check for air and vacumn leaks to all the actuators ,the fuel pumps are know for internal failure if you use bad fuel,
