To replace the speedometer drive gear on a vehicle with a part number 52068151, you will need to follow these steps:
  1. Gather the necessary tools and supplies. You will need a new speedometer drive gear, a socket set, a ratchet, a torque wrench, and any other tools required to access the speedometer drive gear on your vehicle.
  2. Locate the speedometer drive gear. The speedometer drive gear is typically located on the transmission or the transfer case of your vehicle. Refer to your vehicle's service manual for specific instructions on how to access the speedometer drive gear.
  3. Remove the old speedometer drive gear. Use the socket set and ratchet to remove the bolts or screws that hold the old speedometer drive gear in place. Carefully remove the old speedometer drive gear from the transmission or transfer case.
  4. Install the new speedometer drive gear. Place the new speedometer drive gear in the same position as the old one and secure it in place with the bolts or screws. Use the torque wrench to tighten the bolts or screws to the specified torque listed in the service manual.
  5. Test the speedometer. After replacing the speedometer drive gear, test the speedometer to ensure it is functioning properly.

After placing my driveshaft my speedometer is not working HELP PLEASE

It isn't usually necessary to disturb either the speedo drive gear or driven gear when replacing a driveshaft so I am wondering if your car is an exotic or unusual model.
I seem to remember seeing one model where the speedo drive gear was a plastic ring-gear that was very exposed with the driveshaft removed and easily displaced from the side of the final drive differential by the careless refitting of the shaft.

If you remove the driven gear you should be able to see or feel the drive gear and ensure it is in line, still firmly attached and rotates when the road wheel is turned.
If all is ok there then the trouble is with the driven parts whether mechanical or electronic.
Good luck!

What turns the speed sensor in tranny 2004 isuzu.rodeo 3.5 Can it be repaired without replacing the transmision?

it is driven by a drive gear on the output shaft of the transmission. you could have a bad driven gear that is the gear that is driven to create the electrical pulses to show a speed. the drive gear on some transmissions are part of the output shaft and some gears are replaceable without replacing the output shaft. in either case a part can be replaced without replacing the complete transmission.

I have a 1995 mercury cougar and my odometer stoped wporing so i got two off wrecked cars and it still will not work can it be the wires to the odometer

If your 95 XR7 odometer stopped working the most common problem is the plastic gears. They get so hot the surface shows bubbles that weaken the gears and eventually cause the gear or gears to break and the odometer stops working. The odometer part of the speedodometer has a small electric motor which drives a 16 tooth cam gear also called carrier gear (POD) which then drives a 20 tooth internediate gear which drives the odometer and trip odometer. These 2 gears need to be replaced. I also have a 95 XR7 and had the same problem and I got the replacement gears and did it myself. If you go to www.odometergears.com they have picture instructions and you can also order your replacement gears.

Starter ingages for a couple of cranks then disingages

The drive gear in the starter is weak, it's just as cost effective to replace the whole starter then to replace the drive gear part. You should replace it ASAP as it could damage the teeth on the ring gear on the engine, this would be very costly to replace.

When trans. is warm after extended driving the up shifts are very hard. This only happens during extended driving periods. Around town everything shifts fine.

Shift suddenly become very hard. When going from park to either reverse or drive it slams into gear. 1-2 and 2-3 shifts are also harsh. All gears seems to work. Problem may be intermittent: Check Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) for smooth electrical response. If the response is jumpy or erratic at all, replace TPS. Good luck Auto Zone or Parts Source has this part and can be replaced with in 20 min. Both parts store will have the step by step instructions and i believe the cost is around $65.00 for the TPS which is better then a transmission replacement.

3RD GEAR

Yes it is needing some sycronizers replaced probably and might also be needing a gear replaced in there. and also it will not hurt to keep driving it just skip shift like you have been so it doesnt cause any further problems .. if you keep using 3rd gear it might break off something in time just skip it .. thanks Jerry and holler if you need more.
