97 mpv cold start fuel injector location

If it is a diesel then the cold start injector will be in the manifold . There will be a pipe connected to it and a wire as the injector normally squirts on a hot element which creates a fire that is drawn into the combustion chambers.. Check that the element is operational. If petrol then run the fault codes to find out the problem. I would be having a pressure test done on the fuel manifold to check the pressure regulator and pump operation

I have mercedes sprinter 313 cdi 2002 recently noticed taking longer to start hot and cold 4 weeks ago changed fuel filter Thought this must have something to do with problem So changed o rings on top of...

Normally problems starting could be the glow plugs these warm the diesel up making ignition easier also check the wires going to glow plugs if only 1 of these are off it makes starting harder

My jaguar s type has had a new fuel filter fitted. but this has not fixed problem. It loses power especially going up hill. we pull over turn off engine for a minute or two, the starts ok for a while....

Had this problem on a v6 3l petrol. No codes present.Connected laptop to diagnostics and drove jag for a few miles.Found fuel pressure to start off at over 55 psi but slowly drop to 20 psi and less until car came to a halt.
Waited a couple of minutes hey presto car starts, pressure back to over 55psi running fine for a while.tested power supply to fuel pump,ok at constant 12 volt. Changed inline fuel regulator and fuel filter, still the same.Checked fuel tank for any possibility of a vacuum occurring,no not that either.Had to bite the bullet and change the in tank fuel pump, problem solved runs fine. This car had also been to jags and because no fault code appeared it must be alright! I have learnt that over my forty year mechanical experience that common sense basics must also be checked out and not totally depend on computer fault codes.Hope this Johnnyman.

Morning, I found your problem...its going to be your fuel pump. Allow me to explain. When you start your car in the morning the car starts just fine. As your driving the fuel pump will eventually get hot. Therefore the circuit cuts off when you turn off for a while then you jump back in to restart the vehicle and it doesn't. The reason is when the fuel pump gets hot it shuts off due to circuit wire inside the pump.
You can almost say like overheating. Therefore your pump is going out. Replaced 7-10 of them in my time as a mechanic. Do yourself a big favor. Don't get a used on or Autozone. Pep boys or Napa will do just fine. Goodluck.
