1999dodge ram has cool heat at idle gets hotter when you drive or rev engine

Sounds like a bad thermostat, REPLACE IT! And make sure coolant is at proper level. A thermostat should be closed when cold, and wide open at hot engine. if it fails, it will not stay closed at cold engine, or its stuck. When stuck water flows through by pass at thermostat. and does not heatup because thermostat does not hold coolant back until it gets hot. God-Bless!

My suzuki cultus vehicle gets heatup soon it crosses 100kmph speed (on highway).at lower gears even with airconditioning it remains pefectly within limits.coolent is ok,engine oil newly changed. ...

Check to ensure that the overdrive is on or you will be running at high revs in top gear.
The airconditioning usually switches on another fan so that can help cooling.
Often a cooling system can cope with lower speed running but faster and longer trips show up faults in several possible areas:
thermostat sticking or only opening partially.
radiator partially blocked.
electric fan not operating.
The above three should be tested.
The timing may be out but it is set by computer and would have to have cambelt setting wrong to cause overheating.
Waterpumps can wear the impellor but again is rare.

very likely to be the thermostat needs replacing(to test, wrap a piece of cooking foil around the radiator/front grill and see if the heatup time is less,if it is, then its the thermo.) easy,yes.....

Engine heating up

Is the radiator or overfill jug loosing water over time? Even a small amount under the minimum can cause quicker heatups. Also, start the car and check your hoses. I've seen hoses collapse and cause problems similar to that.

The ambient temperature could also be a factor. When you're cooling the water and trying to keep it below 212; a breeze of 40 degree air is a lot better for the cooling then 90 degree air.

One other thing as well. Being as it is an older car, you may want to try blowing our the radiator. Using an air compressor with an air nozzle. Just blow air through the back (in the engine compartment) through the radiator and out the front. This will clean out the radiator from bugs, dirt, and debris.

Try those ideas and see how it turns out.
