My electronics (ig) fuse blows and fuel economy is in the toilet! what is this fuse for

IG /ECU fuse blows.
IS FUSE IN THE CAB OR ENGINE BAY?
JUST ONE FUSE? NO AMPS TOLD TO HELP ME,
no ENGINE told (4.0L v6 or 4.7 v8



the service manual on pages for PCM schematics clearly shows all things on that fuse to cause it to blow (i must assume correct fuse is there)

TO FIND THE SHORTED MODULE IF NOT WIRES SHORTED
PULL TPMS MODULE (TIRE PRESSURE)
THEN PULL , ABS CONTROLLER NEXT
AND IF STILL BLOW THE FUSE THE MUX PARTS MOST BE TRACED OUT

Srs are for the air bag system

wow not even saying what it dont do?
the back light dead or needles dead?
sure all loads on every car made has a fuse
(cept starter)
why not post the full symptoms of what works or not.
then ask how to diagnosis it.,
does car run, and shift ok, doe head lights work
do the warning lights work in the cluster, keyon, no start?

no the IG-coil fuse runs the tachometer (electrics )
if IG-coil blows, engine dies.as does cluster lamp test. dead.

the speedometer is not electric its cable driven
is the odometer dead? if yes the cable is dead.

key on , all cluster lamps must glow
or IG coil is blown fuse or battery dead, or main fuse in engine bay blown.

does engine run, and lights work? huh, "symptoms"?

fuses blow for short circuits to prevent the fire.

FI = fuel injectors, etc
IG = ignition.,
H/L = head lamps.

there is no EFI fuse. sorry,
the ECU has 3 fuses.
FI, Dome, and IG-coil
all 3 run the ECU.
i do know what you ment.
but knowing the correct name makes reading the FSM better.
my guess 2 is you lost the fuse box cover and cant read the names.
guessing year at 91 -95

top reasons.
ECU bad CAPS
shorting fuel pump (they pull 4amps normal) if 10amps or
more they blow the fuse and or causes the ECU to click relays
like mad.

Short to ground on the circuit intermittently , do you know what a short IS ? Finding active short

take a ohm meter and see if one injector has high resisance

FUEL PUMP MORE LIKELY WORN OUT SHORT OUT.BESURE REPLACE FUEL PUMP WIRES IF FUEL PUMP HAS TO BE REPLACED.CODE SCAN FOR ECU FAULT. IF FUEL FILTER STOPPED UP FUEL PUMP WILL SHORT OUT.

which engine, wiring varies by Egnine G16, J20, H25? what?
a fuse blows to stop the fire from a shorted power feed.
the fuses have names and numbers. with that info.
i can tell you all paths that can short for that fuse.

what you do is pull all loads 1 by 1 on that shorted feed.
if still blows the harness is shorted (long hard inspections, or 15min work with my ammeter short finder (magnetic)
