SOURCE: 1999 DODGE DURANGO AUTOMATIC DOOR LOCKS.

That feature is called rolling locks.
In order to program the rolling door locks you will need to do the following procedure (listed on page 10 of the owners manual).
1. Close all of the doors.
2. Place the key in the ignition and cycle the key from the OFF to the ON position for a total of 4 to 5 times, ending in the ON position, do not start the engine.
3. Press the driver's side power lock switch to LOCK the doors within 30 seconds of cycling the key.
4. You will hear a single chime when programming is complete.
5. To cycle the feature on/off repeat the procedure.

Check this site out
you need the passenger side door lock assembly kit.
There is one posted for sale in the US on this site. just scroll down for the following information and link
Used 1998 Toyota Avalon passenger door lock assembly 1998 Toyota Avalon
passenger door lock assembly
this is the part that surrounds the lock driver side. Car color is green cary, North Carolina 27513
The solenoid or actuator arm for the door lock assembly is probably not working to full spec.

Hope this helps.

Sounds like the link rod to the latch are jammed in the locked position by something inside the door or it came off. Any way, you have to remove the door panel to get access to it.

1998 dodge durango. both the power windows and door locks stopped working. any suggestions?

They are on two different circuits. The windows are on a 25amp circuit breaker, and the door locks are on a 20amp fuse.
The door locks go thru a central timer module but the windows don't.
Have you checked for power and ground at the driver's door switch ?

How do I remove the tailgate trim from 1998 durango? My tailgate will not open, not with a key, or automatic lock it just won't open. Thinking it needs a new actuator, but i can't access it to...

If you can get the hatch unlocked and opened, you can remove the interior panel and unplug the factory powered door lock. This will not do anything to your security systems. The only down fall is it will only open with the key. If the hatch doesn't work with the key either, I would say you need a new lock assembly. I have shaved my door handles and have removed the power door lock, so I know it will work just fine ( I depend solely on my shave door handle system and my security system (Viper) to access my truck) - from Dakota-Durango.com Lots of info there..I agree with losing the power opening option if you have it...I am renewing a 98 Durango and its keys all the way...needed new lift struts for the rear hatch tho..(that thing is very heavy...I HAD to have help installing the new struts, I had held it up with my skull to remove the worn ones....definitely use E-Bay for parts search and full synth oil w/Lucas synth additive will make the motor happy.Hope things work out....

Headlights, power door locks, rear windshield wiper and remote control does not work on 2002 Dodge Durango.

It sounds like a fuse. Check your manual to locate your fuse box, check to see what fuse goes to to the headlights, door locks etc, and check the fuses to see if they are burnt out.

2003 dodge durango no headlights,no wipers ,no door locks no parking lights all fuses good

Outkastroost, I had the same problem last year with my '03 Durango. It happened shortly after we installed a new stereo. The solution was to disconnect the negative battery terminal for about 30 seconds to reset the computer. It's been working fine for a year now after that. I hope this works for you, too.
