The first thing to try with ant bt issue is to delete your device and pair it again to the system. I think what is happening is the bt mic in the vehicle is hearing the person on the other end and transferring the audio back to them. If possible relocate the bt mic. Next turn vol down. Next check to see if there are any noise cancelling settings on bt menu or in phone settings. Hope this helps but it's kind of a shot in the dark.
Man I had one of these cheap mechless head units do that to me a while back and it drove me bonkers until I figured it out... It was the damn bluetooth function! I forget the exact details now, but I recall it had to do with the phone BT protocol VS the music BT protocol. It only did it with an active phone BT connection. In other words, if you were in the middle of a conversation, (or the damn radio THINKS you are) it would hold the radio on until the connection was severed. I remember thinking at the time that it seemed like the rationale behind it was that it wouldn't hang up on an 'in progress' phone call just because you shut off the ignition. I think I ran into this primarily on my laptop because I could tell windows to route the sound through the phone protocol in the BT device screen because sometimes windows BT stack is flakey and I wouldn't get sound thru the music protocol, and mono sound was better than no sound at all. I also replaced that radio for overall flakeyness and locking up. (to the extent I'd have to slide it out and disco the power completely in order to un-freeze it.) It turns out that it was not the head unit's fault, but rather my ground connection was hanging by only one thread of wire to the screw I attached to chassis. So... I would first verify your ground, and then check to see if something might be grabbing ahold of it via BT and holding it "on".
This is usually an internal failure with the head unit (the radio box in the dash) usually getting a new head unit will solve the issue, however it could be as simple as a broken or disconnected connector. Try getting to the back of your radio and inspect the connectors. Also try jiggling the wires to see if its a loose/sloppy connection. Either way, you're going to have to pull apart the dash. In some rare cases, the vehicle will have an external amplifier, if this amp popped a fuse or had some internal fault, that would cause the radio to show everything, but have no sound. Check you fuses first, especially anything related to "Audio", "Instrument", "Dash", or "Amp"
Ismail,i have been wrong before BUT i dont think the bt kit is compatible with the bmw system,(same as Audi/VW)the Parot or vodaphone system is the ones we used to fit to for customers who requested handsfree. regards.Geoff.
Check the in dash lights to see if they are burnt out or you have a bad connection or bad wire. this could be do to having an after market sound system.I had similar problems with a 97 Plymouth Breeze i.e. loose connection.
As far as sounds, the audio system in the corollas are pretty easy to upgrade. You can take it to your local audio shop, or if you chose to do it yourself, there are many websites to order parts for cheap.
