If it just intermittently shuts down as though you turned off the key, chances are good that you are looking at a camshaft or crankshaft position sensor. They cost $75 to $80 each and are fairly easy to install. A mechanic can test them, but they may pass if the vehicle is running at the time they are tested.

SOURCE: 2001 kia rio fuel pump does not work

Are you positive its the fuel pump? Have you tried running the pump with the return line off to see if it pumps fuel? They don't always have to make a noise.

SOURCE: Kia Rio overheating although everything seems ok

Possible early signs of a water pump problem. A failing waterpump will circulate coolent when the RPMS are high but when you slow down, so does the waterpump, thereby causing overheating.

I need to remove the outend of the drive axle and am having troubles getting the axle out of the hub. Every other place has indicated that it just slides nicely out with little or no force. However on this...

Put the axle nut back on backwards (flat side out, so flat is even with the axle end...give it a sharp blow with a decent sized hammer and it will break loose.

Could be a problem with the key lock itself or the steering wheel locking mechanism. Hard to determine without disassembling the steering collumn.
