1999 Oldsmobile Delta 88 headlight problem, daytime running headlights come on, but will not come on when I press the switch, so I do not have any headlights at night, changed relays and switch

I have learned from experience that the things you changed are seldom the problem. It is probably a problem with the lamp control module (LCM), a little mini-computer switching device that controls the lighting circuits. It would be tucked up under the dash somewhere. An electrician (or you) would check for power in on the appropriate wires and then check for power out on the appropriate wires that go from there to the headlight dimmer switch and then routed to the headlight assemblies. You really need a wiring diagram to know what you are looking for. A yellow wire out from the LCM goes to the dimmer switch-this should be hot with headlights turned on.

1986 dodge w150(power ram) headlight stuck on high beams. Also having trouble with passenger headlight not working. Already replaced Hi/Low dimmer switch.

Have you checked the relay in the circuit. You really need a schematic of the wiring diagram. Electrical can be tricky without the wiring diagram.

I need help locating the headlight relay under the hood? fuses good, everything works except headlights?

No regular fuse for headlamps , fusible link .Do you know what a fusible link is ? There is a headlamp switch , dimmer switch , no relay . Go http://www.bbbind.com/free_tsb.html free wiring diagrams ! Check it out yourself , an check for B+ voltage with a DVOM - digital volt ohm meter at the headlamp switch , if B+ voltage is present there check at dimmer switch . There are videos on youtube for basic automotive electrical testing . Do you know how to read a wiring diagram ? Videos on youtube for that as well .

1998 explorer headlights will not work unless I pull turnsignal (dimmer) switch towards me headlights go out when let go the switch

When you pull the switch to you that is flash to pass . Did you check fuse's ? There is a headlamp relay that could be bad or the dimmer switch could be bad . You can find a wiring diagram at http://bbbind.com/free_tsb.html Use wiring diagram to test for B+ voltage at headlamp switch , dimmer switch an also check ground circuit . If you find B+ voltage going into the switch but not out , there is your problem .

Re Clarion radio screen brightness, I have retro fitted the radio to another vehicle but the wiring diagram doesn't mention a dimmer. Do I need to hook one of the wires into the headlights?

One of the wires on the radio is for the brightness. Connect this wire to one of the dash lights that dim with the dimmer control or the headlight switch dimmer if your vehicle is equipped that way.

Location of the headlight relay.

Has no headlight relay ! your headlamps not working ? high or low ? You have a headlamp switch an a dimmer switch for low or high beams ! The main light switch should have battery + voltage all the time .You can go to http://bbbind.com/free_tsb.html free wiring diagrams ! Shows fuse's , connectors an wires at main light switch an dimmer switch ! Suggest you go on youtube an watch a few videos on electrical circuit testing an how to read a wiring diagram ! Pull the main light switch out of the dash an test for B+ voltage an test at the dimmer switch too. Test the whole circuit !

1988 GMC Van headlights cut off when I tilt steering wheel.

You need to check the wires in the steering column. Take the column cover off, probably phillips-head screws, so you can see the wires. Somewhere the tilting function is putting pressure on the wires to the dimmer switch. It may be pulling loose a connection, just a fraction, to lose contact. You may also need a new dimmer switch. Or a multifunction switch if the dimmer switch is attached that way. The headlight switch is on the dash, isn't it? If it is, the headlight switch is not the problem, it is the wires in the steering column or the dimmer switch. If the dimmer switch fails, you will have no high or low beams, no head lights at all.

Head lights one works other not then other works and then not

You may need a wiring diagram to troubleshoot this. In past years the headlights were grounded at the light and the headlight switch provided power.
On your car, the headlights get power from a fuse for each side. The body computer, headlight switch, and dimmer switch all provide the ground for each side. The relays are grounded by the body computer and headlight switch.
If you have power at both headlights at the same time, I would say the problem is in the dimmer switch, the body computer, or the wiring. Somewhere a ground connection is failing.

All lights work on my 83 cj7 except my dash lights

You either have the headlight dimmer control turned off or the dimmer control rheostat is defective

1996 chevy s10 headlights will not burn on high or low beam .

I would take a look at your headlight dimmer switch. The dimmer switch works independent of the DRL system.
Below is the wiring diagram for you vehicle.
Good luck and let me know.
