Yes. However it is a very expensive swap $5000 to $8000 to do it right. You will need the 1J or 2J engine, transmission, wiring harness, ecu, and alot of other pieces to do the swap. The engine brackets will need to be modified and you will have to upgrade your brakes. This kind of swap requires a good knowledge of the Toyota Supra and the engines. I do not recommend this swap for a beginner. A cheaper way is to take a 7M-GTE and upgrade the internals and turbo.

Hi. i have a 1987 supra a 1jz twin turbo was dropped in and it purrrs like a kitten exept i dont think it was tunned properly at around 6000 rpm you feel it rumble at the turbos ..its like not enough

A tuning shop is a good idea. They would be equipped to test everything out. And they should know of any modifications you may have overlooked. At least talk to them.

Replace normal engine in 87 supra with turbo 7mgt, complete with harness and computer. the tac did not work, the temp gauge reads hot at all time, key on engine not started it reads hot. changed cluster...

Check for crushed/shorted wires.
Check part numbers to verify model compatibility.
If to no avail install aftermarket tachometer and turbo boost gauges.

HI I have an 89 supra with a blown 3ltr turbo I would like to know if the 1jz twin turbo will fit on my 5 speed and will my inter cooler work with it do i need different engine mounts

yes the tranny will work and you need the 1j engine mounts as they are different. the 7mgte mounts will not allow the exhaust manifold to fit with the down pipe. your intercooler will work fine although i recommend replacement since you loose pressure if this is an original unit. hope this helps. please rate.

Timing Dpecs for Toyota Supra 87 6 cylinder

1987 non-turbo: 10 deg Before Top Dead Center (BTDC) @700 rpm
1987 Turbo: 10 deg BTDC @650 rpm.

To set the timing, you will need to connect a jumper wire between terminals E1 and TE1 on the diagnostic terminal. This diagnostic terminal is located just aft of the engine compartment fuse box. It is a black plastic box marked "diagnostic" on the cover, which flips open to reveal the terminals inside. There is a diagram on the inside of the cover which explains the terminal positions. On the Turbo model, you need to remove the forward section of the engine cover to gain access to the number one spark plug wire.

Engine Problems

There is no 3c engine in a Toyota Supra. If you have a 1995 it would have a 1JZ-GE, 1JZ-GTE, 2JZ-GE, or 2JZ-GTE if you can tell me which engine you have I can further assist you.
