To change that thermostat you need to follow the top radiator hose to
the motor from the radiator. It will lead to the thermostat housing on
the block. The housing will be anchored with (2) bolts to the block (I
think). Take the housing off and the thermostat is housed inside.you
will have to replace it with a manufactured suggested thermo(probably
180* or 200 degree thermo).
are they the same size and family engine?3.0L "U" engine,(*8th vin digit) then yes...... if not.......... yes, after much money and labor spent. ecm, wiring harness ect. unless you are just replacing the basic engine and transferring all of your old parts to the newer engine.
If it's shift on the fly 4x4(electric shift) try lightly tapping on the 4x4 electic motor on the transfer case.if if works,replace the motor.water and dirt get into the electric motor,causing it to stick.
see if you have a nut on the top of the wiper are that has stripped off. there are splines that hold them on and the arms are both connected to each other. you would need replace the whole assembly that connects to the motor.
