Hey Joes, 1 problem at a time ,if brake light is coming on that is in the proportion valve ,did you have to push reset button to make light go out,? if the ABS lite is coming on what you can do to check and see if that is the problem is unplug it and try brakes ,it will deactivate ABS and give you normal braking and ABS light will be on ,see if symptyms change , also did you reset ABS sensors to the tone wheel when you replaced rotors ? I don't know what you have and I have seen some cars need a importaint reset procedure for abs to work properly. good luck I hope I gave you some good things to look at that help you.

id check your caliper to see if the piston is compressing all the way if not check your fluid it should be clean not brown or if you have been through large amounts of water if it has gotten into the brake system and check your bleeder valve to check if it has rotted or come lose or if you have a break in the lines or air, most likely your caliper is failing to compress.

1999 Yukon Denali stop shifting out of park.

Check the brake lights when this happens, if they are not on then you have found the problem it is the brake light circuit. Go under the dash if the brick lights don't work and check the brake light switch above the brake pedal, it should have 12 volts in and out with the brake pedal pushed down. See typical brake light switch location below. #4 in diagram is brk lite switch.

Brake pedal has alot of back pressure and car moves in gear.Have to press real hard to stop. How to check abs pump if has one where or brake booster or master cylinder?Don't know how to trouble shoot or...

The air seeping is a dead giveaway. Your power brakes are now manual brakes, but stiffer. The diaphram in the brake booster has torn and the hissing noise is the engine vacuum escaping (you hear it louder when you depress the pedal right?). Replace the booster and you will be fine. The brake lights probably don't work because you can't push the pedal down far enought to release the switch. Please rate. Thanks.

Abs light on all the time and when i go to hit my brakes to slow down i feel like the brake pedal is pushing back hard and then the abs light will flash on and off but the truck wont stop like it should...

So what your saying, is you lost, the last 30 years of technology?
You have no idea what ABS,Check Lights, and the likes are there for?
You have an ABS System failure. Maybe a Wheel Speed Sensor, you can do yourself.
Have to get code first and follow a trouble chart to diagnose.

Renault clio abs light comes on with vibration through brake pedal. discs and pads renewed

How hard are you stepping on the brake pedal? What you are describing sounds like the ABS system activating. When you step on the pedal hard enough to engage the ABS the light will come on, in some cars it will blink. You will also feel the thumping/vibration in the pedal since the system works by repeatedly engaging and disengaging the brakes. If it is happening when you step lightly on the brakes then you may have a bad wheel speed sensor or possibly a bad or miss-adjusted brake switch.

99 ford expedition, abs light stays on, front brakes seem to be dragging

When was the last time you changed the front brake pads?
Try this:
Keep the brake pedal pressed down and start the car, after it idles for about 10 second let go of the pedal. If the light comes on just as you leave the pedal - try pumping it a few times, turn the car off and pump the pedal some more until it becomes real hard.
Then, keeping your foot to the pedal, start the car.
Idle for about 10 seconds, let go of the pedal and press it again rel fast.
If the light doesnt come on again - it means you have a leak of some sort or that the main brake pump should be replaced.

Good luck.

96 F350 Hard Brake Pedal

It sounds like the vacuum boost is missing; he needs to stop, turn off the engine, press ******* the brake pedal and note whether it sinks a little once the ngine is running.
If it does, then the vacuum motor for the brake boost is OK; if not - I have no other answers.
If it has ABS and it has failed, there would be a specific warning light for that, one you see when first turning the ignition on along with the other warning lights.
