SOURCE: how to change headlight bulb on ford mondeo
Very easy, 2 or 3 minutes.
Remove radiator grille. 2 plastic fittings on top, quarter turn and lift out grille.
Remove complete headlight. Simply lift out 2 L shape retaining pins. Disconnect lead. Ease out complete headlamp unit.
Remove back of headlamp unit to access bulbs. Disconnect lead from bulb while bulb still held by clip. Then release clip to remove bulb.
Reverse process to fit.

SOURCE: IS IT EASY TO CHANGE A HEAD LIGHT BULB
Yes! Just take your time and do in the daytime.....you shouldn't have to adjust anything if you are replacing only the bulb and not the housing.

Your relay is more than likely the culprit. There is a relay box in the engine compartment that houses this relay. A relay is used to control a high current or high voltage source with a low current low voltage source. There should be a diagram on the bottom of the relay housing cover.
