P300, is a generic code for misfires. Could be any of the cylinders or all. When's the last time you had a tune up? Start with the cheap stuff, fuel filter, air filter, and clean the throttle body. If that doesn't clear it up, replace the plugs and wires.

There was actually a recall for this. Go to your local GMdealer and have them check your VIN for a recall. If not under recall get out of there its easy to repair yourself don't let'em fool you.Remove the front pads caliper and rotors. Locate the abs sensor mounted to the wheelbearing assembly by a small socket head cap screw (Allen wrench). Removethe bolt and softly gently/wiggle the abs sensor around until it pops upout of the hole. some will break, which is why it wouldbe nice if the recall applies to your vehicle that way if they break gm replaces. Once you get both sides removed, clean themounting surface of all rust or build up with w-d 40 and small steel toothbrush then wipe off excess with clean rag and mild soap and warm water, dry completely make sure no spray residue exist on parts, Next apply a thin layer of lubricant grease to preventfuture rusting and reassemble. The rust build up under the sensor is causing the angle to change resultingin inaccurate wheel speed readings in the abs module your abs module will interprets this asa wheel is either slipping or skidding and applies your abs. This should make you happy with no more irritations. Please rate me. If you need further assistance you can always ask me. Good luck with this.

Possible fuel delivery problem, fuel pump, fuel line, clogged fuel filter, leaking injectors or injector O-rings, faulty pressure regulator etc. Check your fuel pressure.

SOURCE: hello. my 2000 4runner v6 has been running rough.

Change your oxygen sensors - they're responsible for feedback that the computer uses to determine the air/fuel mixture. They usually are good for about 60k miles and then start to go downhill. When they get to a point that the computer won't trust them, it ignores them and runs on preprogrammed fuel maps that run excessively rich (too much fuel) to safeguard the engine. You've probably seen a decrease in fuel mileage as well. And the O2 sensors have to be up around 900 degrees before they'll work - the car ignores them until then. That's why you run fine after a cold start but run rough once the car is warmed up.

The O2 sensors you want to change are in the exhaust system between the engine and catalytic converters (the "pre-cat" sensors). There are O2 sensors after the cats as well, but those are used comparatively to determine how well the cats are functioning. The primaries are the ones used for fuel mixture. If it's been this way for a few weeks or so, I'd put new spark plugs in as well - rich fuel conditions can foul them and contribute to the rough running.

Disconnect the battery completely, try turning the key with the battery disconnected. Put the battery back together. The check engine light should be off now..

What causes engine miss at idle under load?

I'm not sure what you mean by "under load", maybe with a/c on, etc. Also is it really an engine misfire or a rough idle. If it really is a misfire, a scantool at your local parts store should be able to read a code for that. Sometimes a rough idle could be due to just a cracked or disconnected vacuum hose or dirty throttle body. You didn't say whether it runs ok at highway speeds. Sometimes a rough idle can be cleared up a lot with throttle body service or injector flush. Sorry, this is the best I can do with information provided.

Skipping rough idleing

Your title says it's misfiring. If that is true, then you have to find the reason for the misfire. Go through all the ignition components first.

I have a 2000 gmc safari. It will only start when i give it w.o.t When I drive it it wants to die at idle and is very hesitant until it gets going good. Could this be the m.a.f sensor?

if it runs rough at idle then you may want to check the EGR valve. common problem with chunks of carbon sticking in the pintle and keeping the valve open. this creates a massive vacuum leak on the engine intake.

2000 GMC Safari van v6 180,000 miles. 2 years running po420 code comes up and reset with a code reader. Works good for that. Slight miss at 60mph plus loaded and pulling, so I drive at 58mph. Then the...

P0101 is the MAF sensor and if it has even a tiny amountof crud on it, it can keep the dar from running. clean with ELECTRONICS cleaner not carb/brake spray.

P0300 is multiple misfire detected. Sound like it might need tune-up parts

P0420 is the catalyst system bank 1 low efficiency.

I would start with changing the plugs, wires, cap and rotor. And clean the MAF sensor with the proper cleaner. Then see if the car starts and idles. If it does then clear the codes. If it doesn't run right then I would suspect the MAF sensor is kaput. The P0420 code can be caused by a poorly running engine.

1995 GMC Safari Loses Power when accelerating hard, rough idle

Do you have a check engine light on? Is this a 4.3 with central port injection? If it's running real rich it might have a fuel leak inside the intake, either a fuel pressure regulator leaking or a feed line to the injector.

2000 Subaru Legacy will not start

If you find that the engine is dying at intersections and runs a rough and fluctuating idle at start up, and you also sometimes lose power even though the engine is running then it is probably your Air Flow Meter or sometimes reffered to as a Mass Airflow Sensor. Eventually, as the AFM deteriates further you will no longer be able to start the engine as the ECU can no longer get accurate flow readings to work out air fuel ratios and shuts it all down to stop damage occuring. 2 ways to fix, replace AFM or upgrade your ECU to one that is capable of running MAPs for air fuel ratio, rather than using a sensor. Hope this helps.
