I took it too AAmco they changed the shift range selector switch. I drove it home it shifted ok then the check eng. lightcame on the code was PO783 it winds when in gear sometime ican turn off the car then restart then the sound leaves. I dont Know what to do now. Can you Please Help.

Trouble Code Conditions: (preconditions before test)
Transaxle oil temperature is greater than -10 °C (14 °F). Selector lever is not N (Neutral), P (Park) position. (warm , in gear)
System voltage is greater than 9 V.(car battery not dead)
No input speed error DTCs P0715, P0716 and P0717.
Speed sensors not dead.
Output speed is greater than 256 rpm. (tail shaft rpm (speed)
Input speed is greater than 400 rpm. (engine rpm after clutch)
3 - 4 gear shift is active. (the TCM commands shifts to 4th)

I shafted to 4th but the MPH is too slow, so the transmission
is not shifting to 4th , or it slips
any mech would drive the car first. (did he?)

TO SEE, if it slips in 4th or fails to shift at all.

What model truck is it? If it had a vaccuum modulator it is adjustable. If it has a throttle valve cable it too is adjustable. You should not drive it much till all adjustments are made, this could result in damage.

SOURCE: took 2003 jaguar s type r to aamco.The car was
your mechanic should have test driven so you had to do it the hard way. Take it to a mechanic who has equipment to diagonose the problem because these cars ar highly computerised.
Have you checked the automatic transmission fluid level??. Has the fluid and filter ever been changed on the car??? If that is okay, then you're going to have to go to the shop to find out what's wrong..
