2002 Chevy suburban after driving for couple hours it losses power and I have to stop wait 20 minutes and then it goes again...what's the issue

The engine is overheating, check the anti-freeze level when cold, refill and repair the leaks. Check belts that drive the water pump.

the reason your truck is shutting off is because one of your o2 censors is bad. had the same problem even got a diagnostic done ans showed no error.finally went to advance auto and asked someone who had the same problem. hope is works out

SOURCE: suburban stalls while driving

a bad crank sensor can cause this. shuts off while going down road, and will start about 10 min, later with no problems runs fine until it quits again. hope this helps,

its possible it could be the fuel pump have the pressure and the fuel volume checked with a gage and see how much the pump can pump gas in about 15-20 seconds,and compare to specs.

Engine shutting down in extreme heat

Mine does the same thing as far as shutting down on long trips---usually 1 1/2 - 2 hours. I don't think it's overheating....it's got something to do with antitheft system
