I have a 1999 Ford Taurus SE the torque specs for rocker arms

They are hydraulic lifters. Remove rocker covers, start motor, they will rattle oil, tools are available for that. Loosen rocker nut until you here tapping. Tighten nut until tapping stops. Then tighten 3/4 of a turn. It will run rough for a minute until the lifter adjusts.

I have a 2004 ford f150 making a tapping noies can it be the cam phasers going bad

check oil level ---yes it can but tapping noise can be a lot more reasons --worn oil -low oil pressure--low oil level--rocker loose-worn or damaged lifter-worn damaged valves --timing chain --water pump--pulley --really anything can cause a tapping noise --try to isolate the area or sound and diagnose problem

What can i do to quiet a valve tap in 2001 ford crown victoria

easy way: oil additives found at auto stores will have something to reduce/stop valve tapping. change your oil and add the additive before filling the engine back up. that will fix it for a few thousand miles till you have to do it the hard way. the hard way: remove the rocker cover, use a feeler gauge and a ford service manual to get each cylinder to where it needs to be adjusted and feel the rocker gap and adjust to suit.

How can you adjust the lifters 1993 ford festiva

this car uses hydraulic lifters. If your lifter is tapping, make sure the nut is tight on the rocker arm. If it still taps, the lifter has failed and must be replaced.

Engine tapping oil pressure is good and is full of oil

If the tapping speeds up with the engine, ten to one it's a worn valve lifter, push rod, or rocker arm.

Need to know if I can adjust the valves on 86 Ford Escort

normally they are not adjustable, look at your rocker arms, do they have a nut and screw threaded into them? if not they are not adjustable, are having trouble with lifter tapping noise? this happens to not adjustable valve engine due to lifter wear, the hydraulic lifters lose their ability to hold oil pressure so they create space instead of elimanating space, and should probably be replaced. Hope this helps, let me know
