Re: new battery -alarm sounds- have to disconnect the...
The sounding alarm maybe a security system installed by in the truck. Disconnecting the battery will only temporarily solve your problem, but will resume once you reconnect the battery for electrical power.
You must find the keychain/remote of the security system and disable it. If you are unable to locate this, you can have it disconnected by a qualified automotive electrician.
Word of caution though, if you are using the keyless entry system with the security system, this will be disabled until you install a receiver with such function.

This is a wild guess, but disconnect the positive terminal from your battery. Touch the cable (that went to the positive) to the negative, to drain out any capacitor in the system that is holding charge. I think you have to short it that way for about 10 seconds. Reconnect cable to positive and start car.
That will reset your computer and should reset the alarm as well.
You can't disconnect or bypass the alarm system. Think about it. It is there to stop exactly what you are trying to do.
All your symptoms are that of an anti-theft system that needs resetting.
Disconnect the battery overnight. Hold the two battery terminals together for 5 minutes. PUT THE KEY IN the IGNITION, but not turned on (this is the most important part). Connect the positive lead. Connect the Negative lead in one swift movement. Leave the car for 15 minutes to fully reset. The alarm should not be sounding at this time. If it is, you need an auto-electrician.
I couldn't turn off the security alarm on my 1999 Pathfinder as I replaced the battery, Solution: I read the solution here to disconnect the positive cable, open the driver's door, insert the key, then reconnected the positive cable, while honking, I turn the key to the left, to the right and to the left again while the door is still open. The honking stopped. Then I started the truck without a problem. Thank you for the hint.
Hello! The drivers side door lock/unlock switch is more than likely defective...Having said that, the alarm system on Jeeps are a constant problem...To disable the system requires removing the drivers door panel and cutting the Light Green/Orange wire at the switch...And installing a 465 Ohm resistor...Not something done without the necessary skills... I would have the vehicle towed to a Jeep dealer and have them test the drivers door switch and disable the alarm....Guru...saailer
Put key in ignition, turn all the way forward, but not trying to start. Let alarm cycle 2 times, when it stops the 2nd time, remove key and alarm should be disarmed. This will only work if it is a factory alarm.
dont you have the alarm key fob? if so that will reset it. just press unlock. If you dont an dits not a OEM Acura alarm you will need to find who makes it and get a new key fob, or have a shop that does alarms to disconnect it.
remove your positive lead from the battery. Climb under the vehicle and remove the 3 wires attached to the starter, remove the 2 bolts holding the starter in place, install new starter in reverse order.
