SOURCE: 1999 clk 320 driver door makes loud clicking noise

tony i'm assuming you on about the little bar/plate about an inch wide which seems to rattle about when you open the door??? This is i suppose the check strap and it is designed to hold the door open while not letting the door go too far and become hingebound, bending the hinge and possible damaging the door panel. If it is making a clicking noise it may need a bit of lubrication as it will go over some kind of ball or ridghe to slow it down. If it is completely loose it may be catching something inside the door, possibly the window frame guide or the internal skin of the door. check the mounting bolts on the door post and in the resess on the door and tighten them up and lubricate the rod. You may need to remove internal door skin, window switches etc to get to it. what ever you do do not remove it altogether, as one day the wind may catch it and take the door right around 180 degree causing serious damage, they are not designed to stop the door completely and can stretch if the wind does catch it so check it for damage to as it could effect the door hinges later on

SOURCE: clicking noise on door hinge

there is a plastic piece that slides in the center of the door hing if you look close it will be broke or cracked in half. That is what is causing the noise.

SOURCE: back door makes terrible squeaking noise when

When you open your door you will see a flat bar that slides into the door while opening and closing. It is located between the two door hinges. There is a rubber on the door where the flat bar slides in and out, remove that rubber and you will see little rollers in the door, those rollers need to be oiled, preferably with engine oil. Oil the rollers and work the doors back and forth, the noise should abate.

SOURCE: My power sliding door doesn't open fully. It

I'm not sure about the noise, but the jerking motion might be because your the center roller (located in the rear middle of the sliding door) has worn out and need to be replace. This is a will known problem.

Your problem is very hard to answer because 05-10 odyssey has so many problem with sliding door.

rear latch:
-door not to latch close
-door not to work

front latch:
-door not to open

lock actuator:
-door not to open
-door will pop when opening

window motor:
-window not to work
-door will only open half way

center roller:
-jerking motion when opening
-door kick back close while opening
-door kick back open while closing

Door motor:
-door not to work
-cause door to jam

good luck

Front passenger door suddenly started to make a loud clacking/snapping sound when opening, sprayed lithium grease - no change

between the top and bottom hinge of the door you will see a flat plate thats fastened to the door and post its purpose is to smooth opening and closing the door check the securing bolts and nuts its known for them to come loose over time also the welded on nuts that secures it can break loose so that area is where the noise is coming from

When it's cold out my doors won't stay closed

lubricate all door latches and hinges (GENEROUSLY) with WD 40, repeatedly open and close doors until latches are working good.
After doors are closing as they should respray all latches and hinges with lithium grease. If this does not work replace latches and have door hinge pins checked.

My Toyota Avalon passenger door makes a clicking noise when opening or closing. What could cause this?

if the click happens when the door is almost completely open then there is an over center cam that latches the door open so it doesnt just swing back at you .. the cam is visible near or on the door hinges ... if there is any loosness in the pivot pin then it will snap each time you go over the latch point .. heavy greese on its pivot pin might quiet it down .. if the click happens just as the door is opened then make sure the door front edge is not hitting the fender edge. of course lube the hinges and make sure they are not loose ...

My 1997 Jeep Grand Cheroke's doors close funny. Both of them don't close smoothly. Anyone else have this problem? It's not when the door latches it's during the close, like something is bent but it's on...

Each door has two hinges. The bottom hinge has a lever spring and two rollers attached that prevents the door from swinging freely when it is opened or closed. (one roller for opening and one for closing) If the door seems like its bent, it is probably because the rollers are frozen and when you open/close the door the lever spring is scraping across the raised edges of the rollers instead of riding them. If the door is not moving smoothly, or is making loud creaking noises, give a good dose of WD-40 to the hinges as well as the rollers, especially the rollers. The rollers should roll when the lever spring engages it as you open/close the door.

Open door position hold latch snaps real loud opening and closing the door

The hinge has most likely broken loose from the door frame. Look at the main body where the slider bar attaches to the body from the door. It is common for the hinge to break loose. It will need to be spot welded back into place to stop the clicking noise. Usualy two clicks when the door opens and then when it closes.
