Follow the smaller diameter high side line till you see a spot where there are dimples pushed in. These are the stops for the orifice so it doesn't get pushed too far in. They are usually at the front where the line goes to the radiator/condenser area.

it is located in the high pressure AC line at the AC evaporator core inlet. The high pressure line is the smaller of the two AC lines that come from the AC compressor on the engine..

SOURCE: Where is the orifice tube

The orifice tube is part of the Air conditioning system and it's located inside the A/C line that comes out of the evaporator, ( the part that's in the heater box). You will need to remove all the refrigerant to access it. And once you have serviced/replaced it, you have to evacuate the system ( pull a vacum) for 45 minutes to remove any moisture and then recharge the system. Also replacement of the drier/reciever is recommended.

Where is the orifice tube on my 1998 gmc sierra air conditioner system

In front of your radiator is the condensor. On the passenger side of the condensor are two lines. One runs parallel with the condensor fins (upper), and the other runs at an angle (lower). The lower line in the condensor is where your orifice is located. Properly evacuate the system and remove the fitting on the lower line. the orifice is located in the the tube that is at an angle on the condensor Look inside the tube and you will see the top of the orifice. looks like a crosshair. Carefully remove it with good needle nose pliers. DO NOT TWIST WHILE TRYING TO REMOVE IT. Just pull it out of the tube. It may be a little stubborn. Once removed, install the new orifice and replace the o ring on the line fitting. Have the system checked for leaks and recharge with freon.

Where is the oriface tube for the a/c?

Hello TJ.
If yours is the S15 Jimmy it is mounted inside the inlet tube to the evaporator.
Number 142 in the diagram below.8692419.gif

If it is the full size Jimmy the orifice tube is located in the evaporator inlet pipe (high side line) at the liquid line connection.
You will need to undo #41 nut to get to it.
Here is a diagram.

This should cover your question.
