GM had bad stepper motors inside the instrument cluster,2003 to 2006 . These stepper motors control the gauge needles . Sounds like you have a few different problems . Instrument cluster has nothing to do with the A/C , radio , windows , locks . One possibility mite be that they all share a common ground . Do you know what wiring diagrams are ? How to read an use one ,along with a DVOM - digital volt ohm meter to test automotive electrical circuit's ?

Sounds as though u have experience the GM usual cluster failure. They go bad more often then probably any other vehicle. Gm has been replacing some under a goodwill warranty for some customers.

SOURCE: 2007 GMC Yukon gauge cluster not working, doors

I have a 2007 GMC Yukon and all of the guages (speed, oil, battery, etc.) recently stopped working for no apparent reason. The backlight still works but the guages do not. Could this be something as simple as a fuse? What should I do?

My power windows locks, and fuel gauge dont work on my 2003 Chevy Suburban

Do you know how to view wiring diagrams an use a voltmeter to test automotive electrical circuit's ? Fuel gauge is a separate problem , has nothing to do with windows & locks . GM had instrument cluster problems , 2003 to 2006 . Bad stepper motors inside the cluster . These stepper motors control the gauge .
How to repair GM Instrument Cluster Speedometer Gauge Stepper

Do all the power windows an locks not work ? Checking power an ground for the driver main door switch would be a good place to start . Also wire's like to break inside the flex boot from the body to the driver's door , no battery power to main switch . But before jumping the gun , looking at a wiring diagram should be done , to see what all is involed in those systems . Free wiring diagrams here http://www.bbbind.com/free-tsb Enter vehicle info. Year ,make ,model an engine . Under system click on body & accessories , then under subsystem click on power windows or lock's , doesn't matter . Find the problem for one will fix both . Click the search button then the blue link. Looking at the diagram for power windows I see that electronic's are involved . Driver door module an BCM - body control module . The driver door module is part of the switch Assembly . Checking the orange wire for battery voltage to the door module is where i would start , no power , open circuit .

Why aren't lights for center console on the shifter working?

Could have a wiring problem , a wiring pin backed out of a connector ! If you don't know about automotive electrical an wiring diagrams an electrical wiring trouble shooting I suggest you take it to a ASE certified repair shop .
Instrument Cluster and Panel Illumination The instrument cluster and panel illumination is used to provide backlighting to the instrument panel, switches, and control components when the headlamp switch is in either the PARKING LAMPS ON or HEADLAMPS ON position. The level of intensity is adjustable by pushing the instrument panel dimmer switch either up to increase intensity or down to decrease intensity.
The dimmable backlighting components are:
  • Instrument cluster
  • Hazard switch
  • Rear defroster switch
  • Message center switches
  • Parking aid switch (if equipped)
  • Transmission range selector
  • Fog lamp switch
The non-dimmable backlighting components are:
  • Driver front door lock and power window control switch
  • Passenger front door lock and power window control switch
  • Driver rear door power window control switch
  • Passenger rear door power window control switch
Principles of Operation
The instrument cluster sends a signal to the instrument panel dimmer switch. The instrument cluster provides a variable pulse width modulated (PWM) signal to the dimmable backlighting components in accordance with the position of the instrument panel dimmer switch.
  1. Verify the customer concern.
  1. Visually inspect the following for obvious signs of mechanical or electrical damage.

    Visual Inspection Chart Mechanical Electrical
    • Instrument panel dimmer switch
    • Smart junction box (SJB) fuse(s):
      • 7 (10A)
      • 15 (30A)

    1. If an obvious cause for an observed or reported concern is found, correct the cause (if possible) before proceeding to the next step.
    1. NOTE: Make sure to use the latest scan tool release software.
If the cause is not visually evident, connect the scan tool to the data link connector (DLC).
    1. NOTE: The vehicle communication module (VCM) LED prove-out confirms power and ground from the DLC are provided to the VCM.
If the scan tool does not communicate with the VCM:
      • Check the VCM connection to the vehicle.
      • Check the scan tool connection to the VCM.
      • Refer to Section 418-00 , No Power To The Scan Tool, to diagnose no communication with the scan tool.
    1. If the scan tool does not communicate with the vehicle:
      • Verify the ignition key is in the ON position.
      • Verify the scan tool operation with a known good vehicle.
      • Refer to Section 418-00 to diagnose no response from the powertrain control module (PCM).
    1. Carry out the network test.
      • If the scan tool responds with no communication for one or more modules, refer to Section 418-00 .
      • If the network test passes, retrieve and record the continuous memory DTCs.
    1. Clear the continuous DTCs and carry out the self-test diagnostics for the instrument cluster.
    1. If the DTCs retrieved are related to the concern, go to the Instrument Cluster Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Index. For all other DTCs, refer to Section 419-10 .
    1. If no DTCs related to the concern are retrieved, GO to Symptom Chart .

I have a 2005 gmc sierra z71 and truck starts but all gauges are dead only thing on is battery light and the abs thing i thought it was battery but put a new one and same thing truck starts and drives but...

Battery light is for the charging system not working , not the battery .
anybody had this issue? Don't look for magical fixes , what fixes someone else's vehicle may not fix yours . If you don't know how the thing's on your vehicle work ,your best bet , take it to a qualified repair shop. Testing the electrical circuits of the thing's not working is how you fix these type problems . Looking at a wiring diagram , using a DVOM - digital volt ohm meter an testing the electrical circuits.

Enter vehicle info. Year , make , model and engine size. Under system click on body & accessories then under subsystem click on something your having problems with . Then take apart what ever need's to ,to get at componets that need testing . Insturment cluster , door panel's to check door switches , window motors .
Plus GM vehicles had problems with insturment clusters from 2003 to 2006 . causing all kind of electrical problems .
If you have not or know not what i have said here , take it to a qualified repair shop.

2009 GMC Envoy - power door locks, power windows, fuel gauge not working, dome light isn't working

Do you know anything about automotive electronic's ? computer controlled systems ? There is electronic control modules in side the doors of your vehicle that control the operation of the windows an lock's , plus the instrument cluster is a module too . Your vehicle has about 10 different control modules and thet are all hooked on a serial data communication network ,to share info. The fuel tank sending unit in the gas tank is wired to the PCM - engine computer , The PCM sends fuel level info to the gauge in the instrument cluster on this serial data network . Your best bet ,take an have the vehicle checked out by a qualified repair shop .
The power door lock system consists of the following components:
• Driver Door Module (DDM)
• Passenger Door Module (PDM)
• Liftgate Module (LGM)
• Door lock relay
• Door unlock relay
• Body Control Module (BCM)
• Reversible door lock actuators in each of the doors
• LR/RR LOCKS 10A fuse (relay supply voltage)
• Door lock switches in driver and passenger doors (switches are integral components to the DDM and PDM)

Power Door Lock Operation
The power door lock switches are integral components of the DDM and PDM. The switches are two position normally open rocker switches. When placed in either the lock or unlock positions, the switches provide a direct input to the DDM or PDM. The DDM or PDM monitors these inputs and sends a Class 2 message indicating a change in the switch's respective position. Modules which activate the power door lock motors receive the Class 2 message and activate the motor in the appropriate direction to lock or unlock the vehicle's doors and liftgate. The modules which activate the power lock motors are:
• DDM (driver door lock actuator).
• PDM (passenger front door lock actuator).
• BCM (both rear door lock actuators).
• LGM (liftgate door lock actuator).
The DDM, PDM and LGM are directly connected to the respective door lock actuator through the door lock motor lock and unlock circuits. Once a door lock or unlock request has been received, the module will supply battery voltage to one side of the actuator and ground the other causing the doors to lock or unlock.

The modules probably have DTC'S - diagnostic trouble codes stored , these would point a auto tech in a positive diagnostic direction .

2004 Chevy trailblazer. Power windows & locks dont work on driver side front controls. Have all ready removed and replaced control cluster on arm rest. All other wondows work at the respective door,...

Sounds like a fuse. Are you getting power to the driver door module (control cluster as you say). Below are 3 pictures for you. The first one is the location where the fuse box is located for that fuse (under drivers seat in the rear). The second picture is a diagram or the latout of the fuses. The fuse you want to check is the fuse marked "LT DOORS" or the one marked 02. It should be a 25 amp fuse. The 3rd picture is a wiring diagram for the circuit. If the fuse isn't blown check the power wire from the fuse box to the driver door control module. Sounds like a power issue. Anymore questions or diagrams that you need, feel free to email me at [email protected] and I should have and will send if you need anything else. I hope this helps and good luck.
