At a guess I would suspect worn wheel bearings, coupled with worn out rotors and stuck caliper slide pins. Time for a full brake job, esspecially on the front.

SOURCE: 95 subaru impreza ;speedometer quit, engine light stays on

i had this problem with mine if your cable spins wen the car is moving its not the gear box end or the cable its the speed sensor in the speedo its self its very easy to fix you have to strip the speedo out of the case the sensor is only small and on the under side of the speedo the sensor is about 50 mm long and 10 mm wide change that and it should be ok
oh remember to reset your ecu

SOURCE: 1995 subaru impreza wrx sti overboost problem

I bought a 1995wrx turbo japanese import 260bhp standard, which can only run on v-power 99octane fuel, from scooby clinic in chesterfield (scooby race tune expert mechanics).I was the first person in england to test drive on road (it had not long arrived in the uk & had been put on rolling road a few times),whilst test driving, the turbo boosted normal & then started juddering slightly etc etc,i asked scooby lad "what was that" he wasnt sure(office boy!) & assured me that whatever it was theyre top mechanics would sort it out & do a full service, change the belts etc etc, ...so i bought it,luckily with a 30 day warranty included starting from collecting it.I picked it up about a week later,i got as far as 20mile away(nearly home) & it started juddering again, nothing too serious,so i thought we'll see how we go.next day same again, after 3days it were juddering more visciously, getting worse to the point where i nearly hit the windscreen,i thought its got to be a fuel blockage?.it backfired twice & not long after that packed up & would not start again,i foned scooby clinic & towed car back up to chesterfield.they kept saying "i must of put wrong fuel in",they ended up taking engine out cos head gaskets had blown, engine had died,6-7 wks later they told me to come & collect car with no charge,i was told to run it in for 500 miles steadily,& then take it back, they then changed oil, sparplugs & boosted turbo back up(re-connected it),the boss apologised to me & said if he knew it were like that he would never have sold it at all to anyone,he explained that the engine was carboned up(blocked) they did a nearly full engne re-build free of charge.the boss said if he knew it were blocked up they would of gave it a thrashing to clear the engine.

SOURCE: how do you remove rear brake drums on 1999 subaru impreza

u need to remove small rubber dust cover from back side of brake backing plate. then with a sturdy but small screwdriver, thru this hole, u need to locate auto adjuster plate inside drum, u push small driver against this so it is pushed off the adjuster cam, then with flat screwdriver, or adjusting tool, at same time as u are holding adjuster plate, back off adjuster wheel as far as it will go this is akward to do, but brakes need to be backed off to enable drums to be removed drums wear and develop a lip on edge u should then be able to slide drum off. if still hard tap with a hammer while pulling drum

Does anyone know how to get the ABS light off of a 2006 subaru impreza wagon it just popped on and would prefer to have it off

The ABS light, (Antilock Braking System), is a warning light for the vehicles Brakes. The light is on because the vehicles electronics has detected a problem and the light will stay on until you fix it. You need to get this looked at by a good mechanic AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!
Are there any other warning lights on the dashboard? You should get the vehicle scanned for Diagnostic Trouble Codes, DTC's. These give clues as to where the problem If you need to pay for this service get prices at 4 or 5 places as prices can be VERY different.

The abs light only comes on when I turn the lights on .if I don't turn lights on it works normally

The abs system is not currently working and will not engage if you push on the brake abruptly. Resetting the light will resume the ABS function.

Why is my 98 subaru impreza having a grinding noiseseems like its comming from the trannsmission but it sounds even in nutrual? anyone know the answer to my solution? plz i need help

If you have gave the car pleanty of right foot then I think what your hearing is the thrust bearing and the gearbox will most definately be out of oil. I would take it straight to a garage unless your competrent in doing the work yourself.

Got subaru impreza wrx turbo 1993 , fith gear keeps popping out and grinds as it goes into fith

Time to look around in junkyards or ebay for a similar transmission with much lower mileage, or google around and see if you can exchange that tranny for a rebuilt one.

1995 impreza doesn't always start, and when it does, takes awhile

The check engine light may be due to your o2 sensors. Your car may have a lot of mileage on it. Try replacing your front and rear o2 sensor. Subaru's tend to backfire because they run a bit rich from factory. If you could give us a check engine light code I can clarify what the problem is.
