Cylinder misfires-real bad ones, not random misfires

You have a Class A misfire- that is ruining the exhaust
converter, thus the sulphur dioxide smell,STOP Using it

You will need new spark plugs, find out what ignition coils
are bad & may have to replace the converters & oxygen sensors,
if you have used it like that a couple weeks

Your looking at $1000 repair bill or more, because you failed to
have it checked for codes, road tested with a scanner & look at
fuel trim & cylinder misfires

I have a 2002 Ford Taurus Adil High smells like rotten eggs in the fans won't cut on

You need to check fuel pressure while starting it and at idle and while driving to see if its low or dips or surges indicating pump or filter or regulator issues.
I also recommend a new set of motor craft spark plugs be installed.
The smell is being caused by unburnt fuel overheating the catalytic converters.
After the above procedures check for any signs of vacuum leaks especially on the PCV tube from the valve cover to throittle body and do a fuel system service

The vehicle is surging going up hill like a jerking almost ,and smell of eggs is bad, what do you think

usually when you get a smell like rotten eggs, it is your catylist convertor. if bad it is like it plugs up and causes drivability problems. take it to a muffler shop to get it checked out. Good-Day!

I believe im having a problem with my fuel system i put new spark plugs and wires and rotor already but it still has high idle or no idle at all it wont start at times or just dies as im driving. and when...

the rotten egg smell is a catalytic convertor going bad. here are a few symtoms.--- you should notice a drop in power and also a higher running temperature, also at night you may notice a slight glow from this thing if its heating up,it will also loose power ,on any kind of a hill or small incline it may idle rough from time to time also, there are several warning signs of one going bad ,if your in doubt about it,you can have it checked, they can drill a hole in it and check the back pressure on it,this will tell you if its going bad, this is actually the best way to check it out. have a good day !!

I have a 1.6,2002 beatle,it is surging(revs up and down on its own, using more fuel than normal and smells of fuel and egg type of smell any clues?

For the car reving itself, it could be the throttle positon sensor (i dont know much about it). I've experianced this myself but it comes and goes. Usually allowing the car to reach normal temp before driving properly helps this.

As for the egg smell. It will most likely be something to do with your fuel/petrol. Your engine wont burning sulfur properly and then turning it into hydrogen sulfide which is supposed to smell like eggs.

A good service should fix this, oil change, air filter, oil filter etc.

When i accelerate up a hill i smell a foul odor like rotten eggs. then my car sounds like a straining noise i believe its my transmission going bad and a sound from the rear leaving me to believe that its...

no the rotten egg smell is the catalytac convertor stopping up. smelled it many times not to know.it will slow or even make your engine die because the motor has to have air to run! as the engine operates the valves are opening and closing and sucks air from the rear through the exhaust,or if not when you go through a whole lot of water while driving how come the engine dies? because it sucks water in through the exhaust pipe up to the motor. have your convertor replaced and that crazy stuff will go away. thank you for choosing fixya, com
