Yes this looks ok, the first 4 numbers letters are the engine make which will read its a G4KC engine, the other numbers are the sequence or order numbers, that is quite normal

Where can i find the engine number of a mazda mpv lx and how many digits is it

Are you needing the engine family number, the engine serial number, or the engine size? There should be an emissions label under the hood that identifies the engine size and probably will also identify the engine family number. Finding the engine serial number will be a bit more difficult though.

My Cadillac 2004 cts dashboard lights come on but it want crank I need help

Your best bet would be to take your vehicle to the dealer ! You have no idea of the complexity involved in the starting of this vehicle ! The computer contols and serial data network etc....
Serial Data Power Mode
On vehicles that have several control modules connected by serial data circuits, one module is the power mode master (PMM). On this vehicle the PMM is the DIM. The PMM receives 2 signals from the ignition switch.
To determine the correct power mode the PMM uses the following circuits:
• Accessory voltage
• Run/Crank voltage

Table 1: 2-Wire Ignition Switch Table
The body control system consists of the following 2 modules:
• The Dash Integration Module (DIM)
• The Rear Integration Module (RIM)
Each of the 2 body control modules integrate a number of functional systems. Each module is connected to the class 2 serial data circuit, many of the control signals are implemented by class 2 messages.
Serial Data Messages
The modules that depend exclusively on serial data messages for power modes stay in the state dictated by the last valid PMM message until they can check for the engine run flag status on the serial data circuits. If the PMM fails, the modules monitor the serial data circuit for the engine run flag serial data. If the engine run flag serial data is True, indicating that the engine is running, the modules fail-safe to RUN. In this state the modules and their subsystems can support all operator requirements. If the engine run flag serial data is False, indicating that the engine is not running, the modules fail-safe to OFF-AWAKE. In this state the modules are constantly checking for a change status message on the serial data circuits and can respond to both local inputs and serial data inputs from other modules on the vehicle.
Discrete Ignition Signals
Those modules that have discrete ignition signal inputs also remain in the state dictated by the last valid PMM message received on the serial data circuits. They then check the state of their discrete ignition input to determine the current valid state. If the discrete ignition input is active, battery positive voltage, the modules will fail-safe to the RUN power mode. If the discrete ignition input is not active, open or 0 voltage, the modules will fail-safe to OFF-AWAKE. In this state the modules are constantly checking for a change status message on the serial data circuits and can respond to both local inputs and serial data inputs from other modules on the vehicle.

Honestly ,there is nothing you can do ! The dealer has the factory scan tool an service info. to diagnose this quickly . The only thing you would be able to do is guess as to what the problem is ,and it would be wrong .

I have a 2007 cadillac cts with a no crank no start problem. The TC light is on as well as the theft protection light and the check engine light, but it will not say anything. What could be the pro?

It won't talk to you ? explain that . Is the battery an cable connections good ? Do the headlamps shine bright ? Does the theft light flash when trying to start the vehicle ? Do you know how complex your vehicle is ? The number of control module's on the vehicle , what GMLAN serial data communications are ? What happens when you turn the key to start ? The ignition switch is a low voltage input to the BCM - body control module system , the BCM turns on relays an sends messages to other modules to start the vehicle , turn thing's on etc... Why the GMLAN
The body control system consists of the following 2 modules:
?€¢
The dash integration module (DIM)

?€¢
The rear integration module (RIM)

Each of the 2 body control modules integrate a number of functional systems. Each module is connected to the class 2 serial data circuit, many of the control signals are implemented by class 2 messages.
Dash Integration Module (DIM)
The various dash integration module (DIM) input and output circuits are described in the corresponding functional areas as indicated on the DIM electrical schematics.
The DIM functions include the following:
?€¢
The cigar lighter relay control

?€¢
The class 2 communication requiring DIM interaction

?€¢
The exterior lighting control

?€¢
The headlamp washer control

?€¢
The hood ajar switch input w/export

?€¢
The horn relay control

?€¢
The interior lighting control

?€¢
The load management

I'd say your best bet is take your vehicle to the dealer or some other qualified repair shop .

Just bought a 1931 Desoto, the serial number on the registration is 3A17410. I can't find anything with that number. Is it possible the number is a body style or engine serial number?

This is way out of my league, but here is some info that might help.
Before 1954 there was no uniform VIN number used in the USA.
In the years leading up to 1931 Chrysler Corp and a few other car companies used a FEDCO plate on the dash or firewall for the serial number ID of the car. The car was registered by this number by some states, and some used the engine number. Starting in 1931 the serial number was changed and moved to the door post. So a 1930 car should not have a plate on the door post.
The engine number was always stamped on the block. Also keep in mind 1931 Chrysler products were carried over into the 1932 model year, including Desoto.
The serial number depended on the make and model unlike cars of today. A series 31 model started with a number 6 or 8, while a series 32 model started with letters like SA or CFS, a series K started with the letter K, and so on. Actual serial numbers were seven digits.
On most models the serial number is also stamped on the frame near the front spring support.
You can do an internet search for DeSoto FEDCO numbers and serial numbers to get a general idea of how the serial numbers were arranged. You can also contact Chrysler Historical Society to see if they have the build card for your car. The build card would have both the original engine number and serial number. There are other resources including the Antique Auto Club of America.

Where can i find the engine number for my landrover freelander

The serial number is stamped on a cast pad on the cylinder block. Look on the left side of the engine between the two center exhaust ports (numbers 3 and 5). There you will find the engine serial number. The engine compression ratio is also stamped above the serial number.
