My 1995 chevy suburban wont start but turns over and makes a clicking noise by the fly wheel when its turning over

i checked the battery and its doing the same thing making a clicking noise

That Clicking is the Battery causing it not to Start. You need to Replace that Battery or at Least put a Charger on it for a Couple of hours to see if you can Salvage it for a While.

Slim possibility it could be a bearing too. When it's not under load and is free-wheeling (2wd) the stress on the hub assembly changes, making the clicking more noticeable. When under a load, being driven, the pressure on the bearing would be more steady (in 4wd) and might make it less noticeable, if at all.

from 88 to 98 everything mechanical was the same. the only difference was the vortecs in the late 90's
