Could possibly be the speed sensor malfunctioning. Have it checked or just run the idle screw up a couple turns for now to keep it running. Once it keeps running, turn the screw back out to a proper idle. And sometimes it's the AC speed up solenoid not working to raise the idle when AAC is on.
if this is happening when the foot is on the brake, then it is possible that the brake booster is leaking air and running the engine too lean.
check by idling without the foot on the brake
Did you check for good compression? You may have either jumped timing or have a broken timing belt. I would check engine compression first. If it's good then move on to checking your fuel and ignition systems.
