We keep getting a code of P0106 for the check engine light and now we noticed that it will not shift out of overdrive.....we have a button that we push on the gear shifter. it has 107,000 miles on it and would like it to last longer. also we have changed the MAP sensor in the van. I hope that you can help me!!!!
Code p 0106 refers to manifold absolute pressure (MAP) sensor/barometric pressure(BARO) sensor --range / performance problem=== causes ---intake / exhaust leak---wiring---MAP sensor ---BARO sensor
not shifting out of over drive could be a problem servo/ solenoid , dirty oil , wiring or VSS sensor
have that complaint properly diagnosed by a competent auto transmission specialist shop
SOURCE: i have a 2000 mazda
p0106 is barometric sensor code and is caused by a faulty egr boost sensor, egr boost sensor solinoid, or faulty vaccume line to either devise and last a bad pcm. check vaccume lines first then components, also there is a small filter on egr vac sol make sure its clean
