How do i replace left rear brake light bulb

1) Open trunk
2) Remove small round plastic access panel with a flat tip screw driver by prying open
3) Remove flat tip screw holding tail light assembly
4) Remove tail light assembly by pulling outward, careful not to break plastic guide/nub
5) Disconnect wiring connectors
6) Remove plastic housing access plate on back of tail light assembly by twisting/turning tabs until they click and then lift access plate from tail light assembly
7) When viewing the the bulbs, the turn signal bulb is the bottom left bulb
8) Install in reverse order, ensuring tail light seal seats properly during installation

How do you change the brake light on the back window on a 2000 chrysler concorde

  1. Release decklid latch and open decklid.
  2. From under rear shelf panel, disconnect the lamp socket from the CHMSL housing.
  3. Remove bulb from the socket.
INSTALLATION
  1. Install the bulb into the socket.
  2. Install socket into CHMSL housing.
  3. Verify CHMSL operation.

Is there a trick to getting to the rear turn signal on a 2003 ford focus hatchback. I had removed the screw to the lens cover but I still cannot gain access to the turn signal bulb to replace it.

Replacing tail/brake/backup lights and turn signal bulbs (coupe)

1. Make sure the headlamp control

is in the OFF position and then

open the hatchback.

2. From inside the luggage

compartment remove the wing nut

of the rear light assembly cover.

3. Using a Phillips screw driver

remove the screw. The lamp is still

retained by a spring loaded clip.

Remove by gently pulling out the

light housing.

4. Turn the bulb socket counterclockwise as far as possible and pull it

out.

5. Pull the bulb straight out of the socket.

Install in reverse order.

Replacing tail/brake/backup lights and turn signal bulbs (sedan)

1. Make sure the headlamp control

is in the OFF position and then

open the trunk.

2. From inside the luggage

compartment remove the three wing

nuts of the light housing.

3. Gently pull the light housing to

the outside.

4. Turn the bulb socket

counterclockwise and pull it out.

5. Pull the bulb straight out of the socket.
Install in reverse order.

Replacing tail/brake/backup lights and turn signal bulbs (wagon)

1. Make sure the headlamp control

is in the OFF position and then

open the hatchback.

2. Using a screw driver remove the

fixings and trim from the body.

3. Remove the socket from the lamp

assembly

4. Pull the bulb straight out of the

socket.
Install in reverse order.

How to replace stop light?

Tail Lights
The procedure for removing and installing turn signal light bulbs is the same as that for brake light and taillight bulbs. Only the procedure for brake light and taillight bulbs is described here.

  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
  2. Disconnect the battery.
  3. Switch off all electrical connectors.
  4. Turn off ignition.
  5. Remove the rear light, as follows:
  6. Remove the rear striker mount cover.
  7. Reach behind the respective quarter panel trim and unscrew the knurled nut. Make sure the washer and spacer do not fall down.

Taillight housing


  • Remove the rear light and disconnect the electrical connector.
  • Turn the bulb holder in the direction shown and remove from the housing

    Turn the bulb holder in the direction shown

    1. Remove the bulb from holder.

    To install:


    1. Install the bulb in the reverse order of removal. When installing, make sure bulb holder engages in housing by turning in opposite direction.
    2. Install the rear light, as follows:
    3. Connect the electrical connector.
    4. Insert the rear light housing into the body opening.
    5. Insert the retaining bolt into the body opening.
    6. Insert the rear light into the cutout.

  • Slide the spacer and washer onto the retaining bolt, attach the knurled nut and tighten by hand.
  • Turn the bulb holder in the direction shown and remove from housing.

    How do i replace a brake light

    Open trunk. look for plastic access panels near where your brake lights are(inside trunk). Remove the panels. Turn bulb housing counterclockwise until you can remove the housing from the lens unit. Push in bulb and turn a little bit counterclockwise until it will come out of the socket. Read the number on the bulb. Replace with same number bulb. Installation is the reverse of removal.

    Replace a brake light, how do you remove the lens?

    Hi there,

    Well you can please follow the below link -
    1. Open the rear hatch of the Murano.
    2. Remove the screws holding the rear trim covers in place.
    3. Pull off the rear trim covers to expose the rear taillight housing assembly.
    4. Remove the power connector running to the brake light ballast.
    5. Turn the brake light counterclockwise with your hand, and remove the light from the housing assembly.
    6. Install the new brake light. Installation is in reverse of removal. Post comments for more help or information......

    Removing:
    • Switch off all electrical consumers, switch off ignition key and remove ignition key.
    • Remove rear luggage compartment side panel trim (left or right).

    2004 dodge ram 1500 rear brake light out how to replace?

    Open up the tail gate, you will see two torque screws on the inside beside the tail lights. take these out, this will free up the housing and you can change it from there.
