The float for the fuel gauge is part of the fuel pump assembly - it was probably damaged or is stuck in a position where the float cannot move freely. If you had to remove your tank to replace the fuel pump, you will have to remove your tank to correct this problem.
I think you will find you no longer have a carburetor on your vehicle, so you have no carb float.
if you mean the float for the gas gauge, this is in the gas tank. Google procedures and be careful......
The float is surely worn out due to old age. I strongly suggest that you replace the float to resolve the issue. The float tends to stuck specially when it's corroded. Have it replaced and you'll be good.
Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa! Have a good one!
There is a float in your gas tank that raises up and down. When you fill your car with gas it will move up, when your burning gas it will go down. So if your fuel gauge is stuck then your float in your tank is stuck and you won't know how much gas you have. To fix this you will have to remove the tank to fix the float. Hope this helps.
Float in master is sticking an maybe giving you a false reading. HOWEVER MAKE SURE THAT ALL BRAKE COMPONENTS ARE GOOD PADS ETC. To fix float open cover and master and make sure that the float moves up to the top of fluid when cap in on may need to move with hand to free up float. Make sure wire plug for sensor is plugged into master. Good Luck and Thanks for using fix ya
