Question about 2004 Chevrolet TrailBlazer
The check gauges light is on because the temp gauge is not indicating, u may have a thermostat stuck open and the engine never reaches operating temp.

Tips for a great answer:
I looked at your instrument cluster wiring diagram, didn't see charging or alternator lamp? I saw a voltmeter. I saw a check gages lamp, if that's what your talking about? I'd probably have to check your owners manual about that check gages indicator?
