Lincoln LS Starting/Stalling - Edmunds

No it only has one unless you have two gas tanks. Clean your injectors replace fuel filters, if it still do in it then replace fuel pumps

Check the water temp sensor. I'm not too familiar with Lincoln, but on GM vehicles a bad water temp sensor will tell the computer that the engine is cold causing it to dump more fuel than it really needs thus flooding the engine. The only way to start the engine is to open the throttle body enough to get the air/fuel ratio right so it will burn. If that doesn't work look at your EGR system to make sure the valve isn't sticking. It should move freely. If it's binding then it can cause similar issues, though not as likely.

Located in the air intake tube drivers side of vehicle. In Line with air filter housing top. Most of the time mass air flow sensors get debris inside them from an unsecured air filter housing. Sometimes they are tough to clamp housing back correctly

my 2000 lincoln ls v8 runs great however sometimes it will stall at idle what could be causing this.

Remove the left front wheel
Remove the push-in, inner fender plastic retainers,holding the wheel well splash shield
Behind the shield is the fuel filter. Squeeze the colored fuel line retainer,to release,don't pry on it.

The fuel filter is behind the driver's side wheel. Here is the procedure....

1. Before servicing the vehicle, please familiarize yourself with safety procedures.
2. Relieve the fuel system pressure.
3. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
4. Remove the left front wheel well rear splash shield.
5. Disconnect the fuel tube quick release fittings from both sides of the fuel filter.
6. Remove the fuel filter bracket mounting bolt, fuel filter bracket, and the fuel filter.

To install:

1. Install or connect the following:
   
   Fuel filter into the bracket making sure the flow direction is correct. Tighten the clamp to 15-25 inch lbs. (2-3 Nm). Fuel lines. Tighten the fittings to 22 ft. lbs. (30 Nm).
   
2. Tighten the bracket bolts to 62 inch lbs. (7 Nm).
3. Start the engine and check for leaks.

Most likely you have a COP Ignition Coil going bad.
Have the TPS Sensor checked also. I would prefer a scope trace, to a voltage reading

You can expect at least one part failure a year on the LS I have a 2004.

it is an inline filter so it is in the fuel line along the fuel rail. the inlines tend to be near the tank
