Is air bag light on also? Probably needs a clock spring. This is under the steering wheel, and allows electrical contact to several circuits while turning wheel
your problem is called a clock spring . it is the part under you steering wheel which is like a ribbon full of wires for your cruise control, horn and air bags the wires break from years of flexing, you can get them used from a salvage yard cost about 30a dollars if you remove it yourself.or you can get new from a dealer. hope to end your search for a broken wire. comments welcome.
I suppose it could be a case of bad timing, but it just looks suspicious. No matter how much the dealer claims this isn't possible, you will still think it's the most logical explanation...I would too. And you will likely never take your vehicle to this dealer again. Rather poor customer service. Contact Chrysler directly with your complaint; they may be more interested in keeping a customer satisfied.
Not positive, but most vehicals have a wire that plugs into the seatbelt buckle under the seat. that connection opperates both seatbelt & airbag lights.
You have two separate problems. The noise in the front is possibly the sway bar bushings, there was a problem with them on the dakota, durango and caravans. The airbag light problem is probably the clockspring. It is behind the steering wheel.
