SOURCE: reprogramming blank key iveco daily

Unfortunately there is no solution to this except to take it back to Iveco for reprogramming.

I am led to believe from my locksmith that there are two types of transponders generally put into cars and vans.

The first is a simple chip wtih a code which matches a code in the car / Van

The second is a chip which has a set of codes. They are read in order and the car / van remembers which one was used last. If you use the wrong code in the sequence then the car / van will ignore it and not let you start the engine.

The Iveco is unfortunately in the second group. If, like me, you snap your key, you can superglue a new key to the old and it works fine. The chip doesn't need to be "too" close to the barrel. Yes, it looks ugly, but it's much cheaper!

SOURCE: engine warning light , battery light, warning

My 04 Ford Focus the battery light keeps coming on & going off, have fitted a new alternator belt but it didn't solve the problem. The battery connections are good. Also the rev counter, speedo & mileage clock keep going haywire when the battery light is on. Do you think it is the alternator? Or is it some other common problem?

Hi.I've got an Iveco daily van and the offside rear and near side front side light fuse keeps blowing when I use the brakes. This fuse also takes out one side of the number plate lights.

Check under the dash to ensure the metal lever of the brake pedal is not shorting out the power leads for this fuse. If the wiring harness has fallen, at all, the brake pedal can abrade the insulation on the wires and eventually it will short the lead to ground causing exactly this problem.

I have a 2006 Caddy Van, 1.9tdi. When accelerating it will sometimes shudder, almost like a rev limiter, plus loses power / cuts out at low speeds.

I'd start with a thorough check of all your engine area harness connections making sure the multi plugs are properly home. Then any ground cables for a good clean connection. Has it had any work recently that could lead to a trapped part of the harness? I can't say whether the poor running is part of the electrical gremlins but as most engines have lots of electrical devices, who knows.

You have a dimmer switch for those lights. That would be the next thing to check. Try operating the switch to see if anything happens.
