Hi, I need help unlocking my 1997 toyota avalon radio. I replaced my battery which caused the radio to not work and it says ''SEC'' . The Number I found on the face of the radio is- Toyota AD1700, and CD disk Deck 34224. If you could help that would be awesome. Thanks.

Some dealers put the radio's antitheft code in the owners manual. If it's not there call your local dealer and they can reset the code for a fee.

No dought, they won't give it over the phone because they want to charge you a fee. It's usually just punch in a numeric code on the radio buttons, that's it!

Try unhooking your battery for about ten mins. This might reset your security system. You might also try locking all the doors and then unlocking with the key.

The 'factory' radio has the security feature built into it.

You can add any type of aftermarket radio with no problems.

Car won't start

It won't crank? Does the alarm system works? Like locking and unlocking the doors? If that work, check cranking voltage to starter solenoid with a test light. But before, check all fuses under dash and hood. Make sure battery connections are clean and tight. There is more but try this for now. Let me know of the solenoid test and please ask any questions.
