Fan blows air, but no heat or ac

I just bought a 2000 lexus es300, the fans come on no problem, even the A/C compressor comes on ( i can hear and feel it). But no cold air when on A/C ( i'm assuming it needs freon) also don't get any heat when on "heat", it blows just regular air... Heater core bad?

May be your air modulator. Do you hear a clicking sound behind the dashboard?

SOURCE: Heating and AC problem.

I had the same thing on the same model car. Sounded like I had a gerbil living (running around in a little wheel) in my dashboard. I think the replacement part is called an accuator (it is relatively inexpensive) but the whole dashboard has to be removed to put it in. It controls the opening and closing of the vents. Apparently even taking the dashboard off is not as difficult as dealers often indicate - but they bill for a lot of time - so the job is an expensive one unless you do it yourself. I ended up having a friend do it for me.

There has to be a leak in the system. Look at the sight glass coming up from the condenser- is the refrigerant low (many bubble). If there is a leak there is a sniffer they use in the shop the detect where it is.

Ac fan wont blow

I would disconnect the fan connector and use contact cleaner to clean the connection. Usually corrosion. Also fan might be going bad (Common Problem).

My 1996 Lexus ES300 ac blows cold for a while then starts blowing warm air. Then I turn it off for a while

There are a number of possibilities.
1. If the compressor has a clutch, do you hear it engaging and disengaging?
2. The valve controlling the hot water going to the heater which mixes warm air with the cold air from the evaporator, is not working properly so it si not maintaining proper temperature.
3. THe temperature sensor that senses air temp at the intake to the AC in the cabin is defective.
4. THis is too comlicated to fix yourself, so you need to take it to an AC expert who knows this particular model.

Air cinditioning wont stay on, it switches to heat and wont shut off

What do you mean when you say it wont shut off? is it blowing hot air or do you just feel a lite flow of hot air even if you have the settings to cold?

If this is the problem that you always feel hot air at low flow and the ac goes to hot air then i would say one of two things, first if you have the selector to cold and you feel hot air then there may be a problem with the blend door, this door move to allow hot or cold air, the door may be broken or just a bad motor that controls it. keep in mind if the ac system shuts down for any reason the air then will be warm, it will be about the same temp as outside and maybe a little hotter.

this problem almost sounds like the ac compressor shuts off and then you are getting the outside air which is hot, there are many reasons for the compressor to shut off, it could be the compressor clutch heating up and disengaging , this would be due to a bad compressor clutch.

another reason is the fans are not working, the best thing to do is when the system starts to blow warm check and see if the compressor is running, start engine and look at the front of compressor, with ac off the front of it will not move, and then with ac on the front will spin, check it out and let me know, if it blows warm air and ac is not working then it may be compressor problem but if you are getting warm air and the compressor is spinning then it may be a door problem.

This is hard to check with out testing the system, so i listed a few things to check and let me know the out come. also the ac blows cold for how long before it gets hot air blowing out of the vents, good day.

On third compressor. Had the temperature sensor

With the AC on, the fan will come on to help the ac codensor. Why your compressor keeps crapping out is definately something to look into. If your AC is overcharged the head pressures can get pretty high and if the oil is low, that would not help either.. Good Luck.
