The shift down cables are adjustable. If the cables are pulled, then shift down will occur. It can be adjust to pull at certain throttle angle. Adjust it too much can cause delayed shifting vice versa.
You need to remove the transmission inspection cover under the torque convertor and also the bolts the hold the motor mounts together so you can jack the front of the engine up about 3 inches so the oil pan will slide out. You also need to take off the starter. Hope this helps.
you have a voltage drop problem probably a coroded wire if you can open wire harness and do voltage checks down the wire until you find the bad spot and repair or you can run a bypass wire
