Installed Viper 5704 alarm and Remote Start using DB-ALL on my 2011 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 automatic 4.8 V8. Truck will not start using the key. The truck starts just fine with the remote start. ACC and ON ignition positions work normally and never show any theft light, ever. But even when putting the key forward to crank, there is zero reaction from the lit dash (which usually goes dark during the cranking process) I have installed a new starter relay, fuse, and a new ignition switch and entire harness that involea the ign switch connector, TDM connector, etc all the way down the the green connector to the BCM. So I'm trying to figure out where to start. Faulty, loose wiring at BCM area or Ignition Switch Connector? Bad Neutral Safety Switch (of which I am aware is bypassed by remote start only when installed)? Etc I've blown the DLIS fuse once (2 amp, position 35 in the underhood fuse box) and haven't had problems there since. The truck has no problem when I turn the key forward, after a remote start, and shut the remote start off. It's continues to run as if nothing was wrong etc. Just the crank process via the key is my issue. No relay or selenoid clicks, just as if I hadn't cranked the key forward at all, and left it in the ON position. All fuses and relays inline with everything involved with starting are good and I cannot see anything wrong with wiring. I know how to properly connect wire, etc. EVERYTHING ELSE with the trucks electrical system, Audio, Lights, Viper Alarm, Door Locks, Remote Start, etc are functioning 100% normal Anything will help! I've got multimeters, all that so lets do this! Thank you!

Sound like you have ignition switch problem. You can start with remote then everything should be fine.

Remote starter does not work but will unlock and lock doors.

depending on your alarm which it sounds like a viper model maybe? on my 02 you have to incorporate a factory alarm bypass module in order to be able to start the truck, they run about 100.00 bucks and have to be profssionally installed. The truck wont start because the computer isnt recieving the proper starting sequence due to the factory alarm
