I have a 1999 chevy silverado and i had to change the battery today however the truck still wont start. The alarm keeps going off and nothing will turn the alarm off. I cant use my keyless entry remote because the battery had to be replaced in that as well so i cant reprogram it until i get the truck to start. Theres power in the truck but the engine wont turn over. I read in the manual about a passlock theft deterrent system but it doesnt give me much information. could have something to do with that? i have also tried taking the fuze out for the alarm but the trucks engine still wont fire up...Please help!

Hi,
Go search on a Chevy Forum, but likely the solenoid that shafts the transfer case is faulty. You might try resetting it by disconnecting the Neg. battery connection overnight....IF your truck has an alarm or radio key code you MUST know how to reset these b4 disconnecting the battery!!

I changed my battery in my 2002 chevy silverado 2500hd now when i try to start my truck ill put the key in and the security light flashes like normal but when u turn the key the alarm starts going crazy...

Your key program has been reset, the dealership can reprogram your key. You can also try to unlock the door with your key when the anti theft light kicks on, try the power locks as well. You can also save money by calling a automotive locksmith, its cheaper than the dealer. Hope this helped =)
