SOURCE: holden rodeo 1996 2.8 turbo diesel fuel pump 104641-5810 leaking from rear of pump

Probably an accelerator shaft seal leaking. Best discuss it with a diesel pump rebuilder as it may be an easy fix or expensive.

Holden Rodeo 2006 4cyl 3l 4x4 turbo diesel. power dropping out around 2500-3000rpms and engine light come on. any ideas

Could be a plugged fuel filter. Lets some fuel through then higher draw for higher rpm doesn't provide enough fuel so it dies. Also could be debris in the fuel tank when it is pulled under higher draw and blocks line temporarily.

I have a 96 powerstroke and cut off half of my exaust pipe now the turbo sounds differnt like theres a fluid in it what should i do?

There is fluid in it.Turbos must have oil run thru them because of the bearings, heat and the RPM that they turn which is 10,000 times faster than the engine RPM.For every 1000 rpm the engine turns the turbo turns 10,000 rpm.

Timing
1. With transmission in Neutral or park, start engine and warm to normal operating temp. turn eng,and all accessories off. connect Tachometer. Connect timing light to no 1 spark plug wire.

2. Disconnect and plug fuel vapor canister purge hose and EGR vacuum hose. Start and ensure idle is 900 RPM. adjust idle as required. Check ignition timing ( 12 @ 900)

3. If adjustment is required, loosen distributor hold down bolt and turn until timing is within specification. Tighten distributor hold down bolt and recheck timing. adjust idle speed as required.

hope this helps

Cheers
