Adjusting aircon belt on HZJ75 motor.
1 Loosen bolt at centre of idler pulley. Idler pulley is smaller pulley adjacent to the Aircon pulley.
2 Rotate the adjuster bolt clockwise to tighten belt. The adjuster bolt head sits directly above and behind the idler pulley.
3 Anti clockwise will loosen the belt. Wind to end of the adjustment to remove or replace belt then rewind bolt clockwise to required belt tension.
4 Retighten bolt at centre of idler pulley following any adjustments.

SOURCE: how do I change the 3 belts on a 98 civic?

Below is a diagram of the drive belts. You can see the adjusting bolt. Loosen the bolt to release tension on the pulleys to enable you to slip the new belt(s) on. Once on, apply pressure to tighten the belts while tightening the adjusting bolt. Best of luck.

How do I replace the broken fan belt on my y2000 Mazda Bravo 2wd petrol ute? I need to know which parts to loosen, and how to loosen them, so I can slip the belt over the pulleys. I can see where the

you need a cerpentine belt tool. check out all the pulleys and you will find that one has a square hole in the bracket holding the roller. that arm is spring loaded to maintain tension on the belt. Its not easy for the first time to do this job. The route the belt goes will be on a sticker diagram somewhere under the hood. sometimes they are on the under side of the hood, while sometimes they are on the car's grill frame. it is usually best to put the belt on all the pulleys except the alternator, then pull the tension pulley arm to facilitate the belt slipping onto the alternator pulley. Do not attempt to put it on the tension pulley last. and be careful the tension pulley tension can give you quite a severe pinch if you get your fingers caught under the belt.

I have a 98 dodge caravan, and when you turn on the air con it makes a loud noise like the engine is going to fall out. But after u go above 1500 rpms it goes away.

check if the drive belt that runs the aircon and the water pump is not too loose. When aircon comes on it might be overloading the engine but once the engine picks up things seem to go ok. Alternatively the compressor bearing might be failing.

Steering wheel shakes when the Aircon unit is on but if the Aircon is off it seems okey. pls advised.

First, check the level of your power steering fluid and top up the level if low. Then adjust your serpentine belts. A loose belt may be causing the the steering wheel. To adjust your alternator belt . First , take off the negative battery cable so you do not blow an expensive fuse on the positive battery cable clamp. Facing the back of the car, reach UNDER the alternator and loosen the bolt on the bottom right side, now loosen the bolt on the adjuster block on top, you can now turn the adjuster bolt and move the alternator to change or adjust the belt.
To take off or adjust the steering pump belt on the front of the motor, you need to loosen the nut on the back side of the adjuster pulley (right side ,belt is on the left) . With the adjuster pulley loose , you can use the adjuster bolt to move the pulley forward and backward to adjust the steering pump belt tension

CHANGING SERPINTINE BELT "98 WANGLER

Somewhere in the world there may be a specification for that but in reality, just make the pulley through bolt tight (without being and animal on it). The long jack bolt gets tightened first. There, you check belt deflection. You should have about one inch or slightly less deflection in the center of the longest run of the belt. After getting it to that point, lock it and tighten the pulley. Run it for a few minutes and then drive it. If the belt squeals, loosen the adjustment and give it a few more turns. Do not over-tighten it. A loose belt will be noisy. An overtightened one can destroy component bearings.

How do i change belt on mitubishi mirage 98

( BEFORE ADJUSTING THE ALTERNATOR BELT DISCONNECT THE NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE OR YOU MIGHT BLOW AN EXPENSIVE HIDDEN FUSE)to change the alternator belt, you have to loosen the lower mount bolt on the alternator, loosen block shaped bolt that the long adjuster bolt goes through, and loosen the belt by turning the long adjuster bolt, take off the belt. to adjust the power steering belt, there is a long adjuster bolt that moves a tensioner pulley, first you have to loosen the nut that holds the pulley in place , now the pulley can be moved with the adjuster bolt.

Fitting a new fan belt

Remove the fan shroud cover and draw the fan belts route, loosen the aircon tensioner bolts x 3 on the left side of the cover and remove the aircon belt. With a 15 mm socket on a power wrench pull the auto tensioner to the rightand remove the belt , with a little skill and patience you can get the old belt off and the new one on over the fan blades without removing the fan.Make sure the belt is on properly to prevent it coming off when starting.
