Double check you have a good connection on the bulb, they can sometimes be a bit tricky to get locked on good.
Also German cars usually have a fuse for the left and right headlight so check those out. And finally, can't rule out a bad new bulb. Good luck.

Why won't the front turn signal work? I just replaced the entire headlamp assembly on 2005 Chevy Malibu.

is turn signal plugged in?
if this is a new bulb try the old one to make sure bulb is not at fault
then need to check the voltage at the connector.
A test light is easiest way from a good ground to each terminal.
if flashing the ground connection could be corroded.
if nothing at connector try the connection at the turn signal switch.

1997neon shifter won'T LIGHTUP

see this step and fix it. God bless you
Diagnosis: The problem could be a bad headlight bulb, a loose bulb or corroded bulb socket, a bad ignitor, or a bad ground connection or wiring harness fault at the ignitor. High Intensity Discharge Xenon headlight bulbs do not have a filament, so if the bulb has failed it may be cracked or leaking. The bulb also requires a high voltage ignitor to turn it on and keep it glowing. On some applications, the bulb and ignitor are one unit and can only be replaced as an assembly. On others, the bulb and ignitor are separate components, and can be replaced separately. The bulbs are expensive to replace ($50 to $100), and the ignitors are even more expensive to replace (up to $200!), so you want to make sure you have correctly diagnosed the faulty part BEFORE you replace anything.
TIP: Swap the "good" bulb that is working on the other side to the headlamp that is not working. If the headlight now works, you know the bulb you removed was bad and needs to be replaced. If the headlight still does not work, try swapping the "good" ignitor module on the other side to the side that is not working. If the headlight now works, the problem was a bad ignitor, not the bulb. You need to replace only the ignitor and not the bulb. If the headlight still does not work, you have a wiring fault such as a loose ground connection, a bad wiring harness at the headlamp housing, or a corroded bulb socket.

I don't know how to change the head light on my 1997 Jeep grand Cherokee. there doesn't seem to be any screws to loosen the light.

Hi Clint,

I just want you to know that you are not crazy or blind!

The reason you cannot find any screws is because you are dealing with a snap-together vehicle.
If you only want to replace the bulb, you can reach around the radiator support and twist the bulb retainer to remove it and the bulb. If you are wanting to replace the ENTIRE headlamp assembly, follow the instructions below.

REMOVAL

Grasp lower edge of headlamp lens and pull straight back (away) from Grille Opening Reinforcement (GOR) . Disengage lower adjuster pivots from lens assembly.
Grasp upper edge of headlamp lens. Pull straight back (away) from grille opening reinforcement (GOR). Disengage upper adjuster pivot from lens assembly.
Rotate bulb lock ring counter clockwise. and remove ring and bulb from lens.
INSTALLATION

Replace by seating the assembly in the lamp housing and turning the lock ring 1/8 turn clockwise to secure.
Align upper adjust pivot into headlamp opening and snap into place.
Snap lower adjuster pivots into place.

  1. sth~us~en~file=ani_caut.gif~gen~ref.gif WARNING: THE REPLACEABLE HALOGEN HEADLAMP BULB CONTAINS GAS UNDER PRESSURE. THE HALOGEN HEADLAMP BULB MAY SHATTER IF THE GLASS ENVELOPE IS SCRATCHED OR THE HALOGEN HEADLAMP BULB IS DROPPED. HANDLE HALOGEN HEADLAMP BULB CAREFULLY. GRASP HALOGEN HEADLAMP BULB ONLY BY ITS PLASTIC BASE. AVOID TOUCHING GLASS ENVELOPE. KEEP HALOGEN HEADLAMP BULB OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN.
NOTE: A properly aimed headlamp (13008) assembly normally need not be re-aimed after installation of bulb. A burned out headlamp bulb and retainer (13N021) should not be removed from the headlamp until just before a replacement headlamp bulb and retainer is to be installed. Removal of a headlamp bulb and retainer for an extended period of time may allow contaminants (dust, moisture, smoke) to enter the headlamp and affect the performance of the headlamp. When servicing the headlamp bulb and retainer, energize the headlamp bulb and retainer only while it is contained within the headlamp body.

Make sure headlamp switch (11654) is in OFF position.
  1. NOTE: On some models the clamps holding the integrated relay control module (IRCM) may need to be unsnapped and the module pulled aside to gain access to the driver side bulb.

Open hood and locate headlamp bulb through hole in upper radiator support assembly.
  1. Remove headlamp wire connector from headlamp bulb and retainer by pulling the connector and wires in a rearward direction.
  1. Remove headlamp bulb retainer (13N019) by rotating counterclockwise (when viewed from rear) about one-eighth turn and sliding headlamp bulb retainer off headlamp bulb and retainer. Keep headlamp bulb retainer as it will be used again to retain new headlamp bulb and retainer.
  1. Carefully remove headlamp bulb and retainer from opening in headlamp bulb (13007) by gently pulling straight out of opening. Do not rotate headlamp bulb and retainer during removal.
