SOURCE: 2001 monte carlo ss. Rear wheel bearings making a grinding noise

It is pretty easy, there is not much labor involved if it has anti-lock brakes in the rear you will also have to un-plug the wire harness attached to hubs.

SOURCE: Searching for low-side port to recharge AC on 1997

hello dsouris: Locate the A/C accumulator on the left inner fender well. This will be a round aluminum cylinder with two lines coming out of it. Follow the large line that runs back to the firewall. You should see a shadder valve in this line. This will be the suction line or low side line. This will be the line used to charge the A/C system. If you need further help please just ask. If this information please rate the information as it helps.Thank You for using FixYa. Roger

SOURCE: Where is the ac low port in a 2000 monte carlo

The larger of the air conditioning hoses is the low pressure hose and the smaller diameter is the high pressure hose. If the fitting caps are color coded it should be blue. Just follow the hoses and look for the fitting. Hope this helped and best wishes.

2003 Monte Carlo has a high pitched squeal when you accelerate it's not a belt, the noise comes from the front of motor area

My best guess if not a belt would be a bearing, water pump, alternator, power stearing pump, AC compressor all can make that noise.

I just bot a 1997 monte carlo 6cyl dohc and it has been making this horrible noise..dealership says it is a ac compressor .. can i just unplug this ac compressor so the noise will stop?

well, yes, if the issue is inside the compressor. If it is the compresser pulley, unplugging it will not help.

The compressor is needed for defrost and defog, as well as a/c.
