Car would not start after being off for about 1 hour. No problems prior. Finally pumped gas once and it started. About 4 blocks down the road car shut off while driving. Parked it but didnt even have power to close windows but lights were working. Waited about 10-15 minutes and car started again. Home was only 1 block away. Now im thinking alternator but I also noticed that my abs light signal and brake signal had come on when it restarted so could it possibly be more of a wiring issue?

Cheapest first test is to have a load test done on the battery to check for failing cell. Next is to check the tension and condition of the alternator drive belt as it the alternator is not being driven at correct rpm then all the power that it is producing is being used and there is not enough to recharge the battery

I would check the wiring harness from battery to starter. The wire could be corroding from inside out. Most corrode closer to battery.

SOURCE: 2001 dodge grand caravan stalls

Check the sensors on the throttle body. There is a sensor that controls air to fuel ratio. If that sensor is bad then the car will run and then stall out while in drive. I had the same problem when it was cold outside last winter. If you dont want to dish out the money without knowing if it is that part at fault or not then start the van pop the hood and located the throttle body. Place your hand on the sensors and give them a little shake and then make sure they are plugged in all the way. You could also turn the van off and unhook the sensor clean the connectors and plug it back in. That should do the trick and if it doesnt stall anymore then I would replace those sensors if I was you. One more thing. If your giving the sensors a tug while the car is running and you hear it going to stall you could located the gas pedal cable and give it a rev or two by hand so it doesnt stall out and turn off. By the way. You van isnt over heating at all is it?

Drive the car down the road it stalls and will not start. After an hour it will start with no problem.

Replace fuel pump, fuel filter, This would be a fuel problem if it were electrical it would not start at all. Check to see if you have bad gas.

1991 Camaro RS v-6 will start but dies almost immediately

Keep it simple and replace the fuel filter first, if thr fiiler has not been replaced within 30,000 miles or 1 year. Then it's a good chance that it's going to be the fuel filter.

BMW 740i Stalling Issue (Fuel Pump/Line??)

To save you all the hassle check your spark plugs & distributor first if you are getting a spark. To do that first take out the number one spark plug wire it will be the one closest to the distributor. Second take out the spark plug, then put the spark plug in the spark plug wire. Turn on the engine u should see a spark at the spark plug if your distributor is ok and spark plug. If not replace your distributor.

Car won't start

Your fuel pump is sticking and not pumping, this is common if you run the fuel down to less than 1/4 full, the fuel pump needs the gas to cool itself, below a 1/4 tank the pump is not getting cooled and after repeatably running low on fuel it overheats and fails. Running the car near 1/2 tank extends the pump life to many years more than running tank below a 1/4 full..
