When the engine is off the ticking/clicking sound can be heard even from the outside of the vehicle. the sound is coming from thecenter area underneath the dash. I can trace the sound to what I can only feel as some type of box/relay. I cant get to it except with my hand barely able to touch it and then I can feel the vibration of the ticking. My radio, antenea and interior lights all stopped working when this happened. Can anyone help me track this down????

There could be a fusible link under the hood off the starter relay that is burnt out.

I think I have found the problem. When I wiggle the ignition switch the turn signals and radio go on and off so I feel the issue is in the ignition switch. From what I understand the actual electronics for the switch are at the base of the sterring column behind the lower dash panel and is connected by a rod that may need adjusting.

If you are looking for the old style flasher, it's not there. It's now called a combination flasher module (more $$) and usually it's on the right side of the column under dash. If you buy one first, at least you will know what it looks like.

The click you hear is the fuel pump relay. It gets its signal to energize from the PCM.If you have a faulty Crankshaft Position Sensor, the PCM will not work. Check for a bad fuel pump relay and also all of the other sensors: Camshaft Position Sensor, MAP Sensor, Idle air Control, Intake Air Sensor, etc.
