SOURCE: Front Wheel Bearings for 91 Tempo

You'd have to take the car to a shop, the front bearing have to be pressed in unlike the rear bearings.

I've had the driver side bearing go out, and now the passenger side is GOING out. But yeah, unless you have the machinery at home to do it, you'll need to go to a mechanic.

No fun I know. I've got a 92 Tempo

SOURCE: throw out bearing

Go to your friendly automotive parts store and pick up a "Chiltons" or "Motors" Manual for the year Ford Ranger that you have. In it you will find step by step directions on how to do so plus you'll have a good reference source for future repairs.

SOURCE: how do you get the throw out bearing off the slave

there are two styles of bearings first push bearing backwards to see if there is a snap ring if so take a very small screwdriver or pic and run it around until u find the edge. And the other is just turn bearing till it stops and then turn harder it will pop off.

Why might my 5 speed manual transmission in my 1999 Ford Ranger XLT hard to shift into each gear?

is your clutch pedal soft? If so you could have a slave cylinder leaking or maybe just in the the system bleed back up. Might be that the clutch drive disc is burned up making it hard to shift

1987 Ford Ranger will not shift except in 4WD low. Just replaced fly wheel and master cylinder. Bled lines thru master cylinder due to broke bleeder valve. What could cause this?

Yes. The line need to bled at the slave cylinder. But you said that the pedal is hard, that would indicate a problem with the linkage to the throw our bearing or the bearing itself.

Why would a 1990 ford tempo go in reverse but not forward it is 2.3 4 cylinder manual

Because the transmission is dead. reverse works on different parts than drive on these cars. And since no one uses reverse more than drive? well you get my point.

I'm haveing trouble installing throw out bearing on my 1990 ford ranger just got done installing my second throw out bearing and I'm still having the same problem clutch pedal does not engage

There should have been a clip to secure the bearing on the fork shaft. Was it secure??
Clutch may not engage if clutch master cylinder or clutch slave have not been properly bled. There is no adjustment on hydraulic systems. Bleed again if necessary.

1994 ford escourt clutch will not disengage fully, tried bleeding the hydralic clutch but still not disengaging fully. Any sugestions

could be slave cylinder or clutch master cylinder. might also be the throw out bearing binding up on the shaft not allowing full movement.

Clutch pedal goes up and down feels very loose but wont let me select a gear

Can you put it in gear with the engine off? You could have a broken clutch fork, failed master/slave cylinder, hydrolic leak, or a busted throw-out bearing. If the clutch fluid is full you know you don't have a leak. Some Fords use the brake fluid reservoir for the clutch master cylinder. If you can see your slave cylinder, have someone push the clutch while you look for movement. If it moves about one inch then you'll be taking the transmission out to replace the clutch and/or throw-out bearing.
