SOURCE: Topping up gearbox oil on 99 Hyundai Lantra (manual)

You can actually do it from the top if it is similar to a 2001 Elantra??? On your right center of the tranny, there should be two big bolts I believe a 17mm one on the bottom left the other top right of the other. The bottom left is the drain plug the top right is where you fill it. If you want to make things easier you can remove the air cleaner and the air cleaner housing then unscrew the sensor on top of the tranny you can poor it in from the top. You will need to then unscrew the fill hole (Top right bolt) Pour the lube in to the hole where you had taken out the sensor until it pours out of the fill hole. Sounds like more work but by doing this you will avoid making a mess trying to fit the squeeze bottle into the tiny hole. Hope this makes Sense????

the brakes need to be broken in, if you are pushing the pedal hard to try to stop, if the pedal just goes down on normal breaking then theres a problem, make sure the pads are sliding freely, if the pads are tight on the bracket then the bracket needs to be cleaned and lubed, this will make the pedal drop lower than normal, theres no other reason, you never opened the bleeders the pedal should be good, make sure the pads slide freely,

Check the fuse. Also make sure your dimmer for the dash lights does is not turned all the way down. If all that checks out, your dimmer may be need replaced.

Testimonial: "Haven't replaced dimmer yet but it sounds like that maybe the problem."

Does hyundai lantra year 2000 have grease nipples

No I havent seen grease nipples on many newer cars lately. I think the manufacturers have done away with them. Dont try using your grease gun on the brake bleeder valves at any of the wheels. I had one car that the owner tried that on; It was a nightmare.

I replaced the left front caliper, and now I cannot get the air out of the caliper.

you have to blead the whole brake system fill the break fluid container and put the lid back on get someone to help you you are going to start on the wheel farthest away from the master cylinder the back passenger you will need usualy a 3/8 boxed in wrench find the bleeder valve have youre helper pump the brake pedal up and dow several times and then hold it as hard as they can to the floor then you open the bleeder you will see and hear the fluid coming out close the bleeder and have helper pump breaks and hold again open bleeder again repeat till there is only fluid coming out of bleader it is important that your helper holds break pedal to floor until you get bleader closed next do driver side rear then passenger front then driver front this is how you get all air out of youre break system and be safe on the road i hope this helped you and good luck

Hyundai Lantra 1994

After some extensive research, it looks as though they have two totally different body styles as well as a few others. The differences are as follows:

Lantra: 1.5L
Elantra: 1.6L or 1.8L engine sizes

Lantra: 2,336 lbs
Elantra: 2,500lbs Weight

Lantra: 11.89 gal
Elantra: 13.7 gal fuel capacity

those are only three differences that i have put up among the many that i have found. Lantra's also seem to be one of those out of states type cars that you find in Australia mostly. The body is also totally different.

Reverse gear almost dead in 1998 Lantra auto..

You have a bad O-ring seal in the valve body of your transmission. The reason you barely move when you rev high, is because the trans fluid isnt going to the correct part of the valve body due to the bad seal. This should be a repair you can do yourself if you have any mechanical experience, OR a transmission shop may be able to rebuild the valve body for you.
